PTE Registration 2023 : Check Steps to Register, Registration Fee, Rescheduling and Cancellation Process

PTE Registration 2023: The Pearson Test of English (PTE) exam registration takes place through checking test availability, creating myPTE account and paying the PTE registration fee. Candidates aspiring to use PTE scores for admission to universities or immigration purposes can register for the PTE exam. The PTE exam registration fee is INR 15900 for Indian students and varies from country to country. 

The PTE exam is conducted across more than 400 test centres in 117 countries. Candidates planning to take the PTE exam will need to book the test from the official website of PTE after selecting their test centre and test schedule preferences. On the day of the test, they need to arrive at the test centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Further, candidates need to carry their valid, non-expired passport as identity proof document to the test centre. 

The Pearson Test of English, which is a Computer-Based Test, is an assessment of the candidate’s English language proficiency in the 4 communicative skills of speaking, writing, listening and reading. There are 3 parts in the test: a) speaking and writing b) reading and c) listening. The PTE score ranges from 10 - 90 points.

PTE exam dates are available multiple times in a year and candidates can register for the test at any point in time. PTE applicants can register for the exam upto 24 hours in advance. The PTE exam fee for Indian candidates is INR 15900. 

PTE registration process consists of a few steps: a) selecting test centre and schedule availability b) creating myPTE account and c) paying the PTE registration fee. Firstly, candidates need to check the available test centres and test schedules in their country from the official website of PTE. Secondly, candidates need to create their myPTE account by entering their first name and last name which is the same as the ones on their identity proof documents. After entering valid email address and ensuring the accuracy of the details, candidates can go ahead and book the PTE exam. 

Steps to Register for PTE 

The steps to register for the Pearson Test of English (PTE) are given below : 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Pearson Test of English 

Step 2: Click on ‘check test availability’ from the homepage banner (Alternatively, click on ‘book a test’ from the top left corner of the homepage)

Step 3: Click on ‘check PTE Academic availability’ 

Find Appointment

Step 4: Select the country of test location from the search box under ‘find appointment’ 

Step 5: A list of available test centres along with the test schedule will be displayed 

Step 6: Select the test centre, test date and timing, and click on ‘book’

Create MyPTE Account

Step 7: Create myPTE account by entering first name and last name, and valid email address

Step 8: Ensure that the details entered are accurate and match with Government issued identity documents

Step 9: Candidates need to review the booking details and submit the order

Step 10 : A summary of the test appointment details will be displayed on myPTE dashboard, and candidates will receive a notification email 

Step 11 : Complete the purchase by paying the registration fee using credit card or debit card

How to Cancel/Reschedule PTE Exam 

Candidates can check the steps given below to cancel or reschedule the PTE exam.

Step 1 : Visit the official website of Pearson Test of English

Step 2 : Log in to the myPTE account

Step 3 : Under the booking information, instructions are given for rescheduling or cancelling a test on the account dashboard

Step 4 : Follow the instructions and use the ‘reschedule’ or ‘cancel’ buttons given on the test appointment summary

Step 5 : Candidates will receive an email that confirms the cancellation or change in schedule

Rescheduling Fee

Candidates must note that they will need to reschedule their PTE test appointment as soon as possible to avoid a high rescheduling fee. There is no fee if the candidate reschedules the exam 14 days in advance of the test date. On the other hand, if the candidate reschedules the test 7 days or less before the test date, they will be required to pay the full PTE registration fee.

Cancellation Refund

In case the candidate cancels the PTE test appointment at least 14 days before the test date, they will receive a full refund. However, if a candidate cancels the test appointment 7 days or less in advance of the test date, they will not be given a refund.

PTE Test Day Instructions

• Candidates are required to arrive at the test centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
