UGC NET Application Form 2025 has been released at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The registration window for UGC NET will remain open till May 12, 2025. UGC NET June exam to be held from June 21 to 30, 2025.

UGC NET Application Form 2025: The National Testing Agency conducts the application process for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The exam notification for the same is issued with the release of the application form. The registration window for UGC NET 2025 session is open at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates can register online by May 12, 2025.

Latest Updates: 

  • UGC NET registration window will remail open till May 12, 2025. Students can register online at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The last date to pay examination fee is May 13, 2025.
  • UGC NET registration process has started April 17, 2025 onwards. UGC NET exam will be conducted from June 21 to 30, 2025.

Once the registration process is over, the National Testing Agency opens the UGC NET form correction window. While filling out the application form, students have to pay the registration fee for the successful submission of the form. For general/unreserved candidates, the application fee is INR 1150. For OBC/EWS and SC/ST/PwD category students, the fee is INR 600 and INR 325, respectively.

Aspirants are advised to regularly check the official UGC NET portal for updates on registration and admit card. Once the registration window is closed, candidates will be able to download their UGC NET admit card for December exam.

Candidates need to submit the following details and documents while registering for the UGC NET 2025 exam.

After the submission of the UGC NET application form, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide a correction window for candidates to make necessary changes or corrections in their details. The correction window allows candidates to rectify any errors or discrepancies in their application form, such as personal details, educational qualifications, or choice of examination cities. 

Candidates must make the corrections (if any) within the specified dates to ensure the accuracy of their application details The dates for the correction window will be announced soon on the official website.

Candidates must carefully read the UGC NET eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The following candidates are eligible to apply for UGC NET exam:

  • Candidates with a Master’s degree who have secured at least 55% marks (50% in case of OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender category candidates) in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination can apply.
  • Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or who have appeared for their final year examination can also apply for the UGC-NET exam. However, such candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks (55% marks for General/ General EWS/ Unreserved candidates and 50% for OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender category candidates).
  • Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination was completed by 19 September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) can appear for UGC NET. A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) will be granted to such candidates.
  • For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates should not be more than 30 years of age as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded. A relaxation of 5 years is provided for candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender category.
  • There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.
