OPSC Eligibility 2024: Candidates appearing for the recruitment exam should first check the OPSC eligibility laid out by the exam conducting body. The eligibility is released in an official document, and candidates can check it online. The OPSC has released the official notification regarding the OPSC exam and post offered in Group A & B. Under the same notification, the exam conducting body has also laid out the eligibility criteria for the posts offered. A total of 683 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive.
Under Group A post of Odisha administrative service (Junior Branch) is offered. On the other hand, posts such as Odisha co-operative service, labour service, revenue service, transport service and taxation and accounts are offered under Group B of the OPSC exam. Candidates must know that the OPSC eligibility criteria for different posts are different, and they are laid out on the official document issued by OPSC.
OPSC Eligibility 2024
Before filling out the OPSC application form, candidates must check the OPSC eligibility criteria. As per the exam conducting body, candidates should speak Odia in order to be eligible for the exam. People who are government servants irrespective of temporary or permanent are eligible to apply for the exam. However, they should also possess the requisite qualification.
Only those candidates, who possess the requisite qualification and fulfil other eligibility conditions by the closing date of submission of online application will be considered eligible.
OPSC Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit
- Candidates should not be below the age of 21 and above 38 years as on the 1st day of January 2022 which means that the candidate should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1984 and not later than 1st January 2001.
- Further, candidates belonging to categories such as SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-service have been provided with an age relaxation of 5 years. On the other hand, candidates belonging to PWD whose permanent disability is 40% or more have been provided with 10 years of relaxation.
- The commission will only accept the candidate's date of birth which they have entered in a High School Certificate or equivalent certificate which has been assigned by the concerned board/council.
OPSC Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
- An aspirant should have his or her Bachelor's degree from any renowned university incorporated by an Act of the Central or a State Legislature in India or an Educational Institution established by an act of parliament or deemed to be a university under section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the central government from time to time.
OPSC Eligibility Criteria: Nationality
- In order to appear for the OPSC exam, candidates must be a citizen of India.
Other Eligibility Conditions Candidates are Required to Follow
- The aspirant must be able to read as well as write Odia
- The candidate should have qualified his or her middle school with Odia as a language subject
OR
- Qualified for the high school or equivalent exam with Odia as the medium of exam in non-language subject
OR
- Candidates in their final examination of class -VII should have qualified in Odia as a language subject. The qualification should be done by the school recognised by the government of Odisha or the central government
OR
- Aspirants should qualify for a test in Odia in Middle English school standard conducted by the school and mass education department of the government of Odisha.
OPSC Eligibility Criteria - Physical Standards
- The applicant must be in excellent physical and mental health and be free of any physical flaws that would make it difficult for him to perform his duties as a member of the armed forces.
- Any applicant chosen for a position must pass, and shall be examined by the medical board set up by the government.
- A candidate will not be selected if they cannot satisfy the Medical Board.
