NEET PG Eligibility 2023 have been defined as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. The eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2023 are made available along with the official notification. The first step to appear for the NEET PG exam 2024 is to check the eligibility criteria. Students who fulfil the eligibility will be able to fill the NEET PG application form 2023.
Detailed NEET PG eligibility criteria are released by the MCC in its latest official notification. Candidates must note that the eligibility criteria for the examination are based on several factors including age, education qualification, and others. Candidates who are foreign nationals have different eligibility criteria laid out by the authorities. Candidates who will not fulfil the eligibility criteria will not be allowed to register for the examination. Candidates should note that if they are found ineligible at any stage of the NEET PG 2023 exam will not be permitted to appear for the examination, and /or counselling.
The NBE has released the official notification for the NEET PG 2023 exam, and it consists of all the important dates including the form registration, the release of admit card, the exam date, and the result declaration date. As per the notification, the medical entrance exam was conducted on March 05, 2023, and the results were declared on March 14, 2023. In order to register for the medical entrance examination, candidates first need to check the important eligibility criteria for the exam.
NEET PG 2023 Eligibility
Candidates who wish to apply for the NEET PG 2023 examination are advised to check the NEET eligibility criteria prior to doing their NEET PG registration. The NBE has already started the registration for the examination on January 07, 2023. However, due to a technical glitch, many candidates were not able to complete the registration. Hence, the registration was again started on January 08, 2023, and now the registration will come to an end on January 27, 2023. By having an idea of what is eligibility criteria, candidates will be able to get an answer about who can apply for the examination, what is the age limit, what is the number of attempts permitted, etc.
The medical entrance exam is conducted by the NBE and those candidates who wish to enrol for the MD/MS courses will appear for the exam. NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023: General
Age Limit
Candidates who are appearing for the NEET PG exam should know that there is no age limit to appear for the medical entrance examination.
Attempt Limit
As per NBE, a candidate can appear for the examination as many times as they want in order to get admission to their desired course/institute. Hence, the NBE has not put a limit on the number of attempts.
Minimum Qualification
Candidates with an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate identified in accordance with the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019, and the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, which has since been repealed, may apply for the NEET PG 2023 exam.
Candidates must also have a permanent or provisional registration certificate of their MBBS qualification issued by the NMC, the former Medical Council of India, or the State Medical Council, and must have completed or be expected to complete their internship on or before March 31, 2023.
Internship
Candidates who will complete their required rotatory internship of 1 year on or before July 31, 2023, will be eligible to apply for NEET PG 2023. Further, those candidates who will not complete their internship during the given time span will not be able to apply for the examination.
Registration Dates
As per the official website of the NBE, "registration with the NMC/ the erstwhile Medical Council of India or State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished by the candidates on the day of examination and at the time of counselling/admission."
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023 For Foreign Candidates Who are Medical Graduates

Nationality
Candidates who are Indian Citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible to appear for the medical entrance examination.
FMGE Pass Certificate
Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have pursued their primary medical qualifications from medical colleges outside India are required to qualify for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (screening test) as per the screening test regulations, 2022.
Additionally, the candidate should have been registered with the NMC, the former Medical Council of India, or the State Medical Council, and they should have finished their internship by March 31st, 2023, or be on track to do so.
Internship
In order to qualify for the NEET PG examination, candidates who are foreign nationals are required to finish their internship by July 31, 2023, or earlier.
Registration Certificate
All foreign medical graduates are required to register themselves with the MCI/SMC after obtaining the FMGE Pass Certificate. These candidates have to submit a copy of the Registration Certificate to confirm their eligibility.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023 For Foreign Aspirants

Foreign national candidates should have a basic medical qualification equivalent to MBBS and should be recognized by the National Medical Commission.
As per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) requirements, foreign nationals who are appearing in NEET-PG and those who are required to have security clearance. They are also required to obtain security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India before applying for the NEET-PG examination. After receiving the clearance, the candidates should submit their security clearance while applying for the NEET-PG exam.
Foreign Nationals must be registered with the appropriate authority in their respective country.
Such candidates can apply for NEET PG 2023 without a Registration Certificate from MCI. They must pay the registration fee to MCI in order to receive a temporary registration if they pass the examination and are offered a seat through NEET PG 2023. This registration will only be valid for the stated course's duration.
NEET PG eligibility For Candidates Who Are Doing Masters
Some colleges and universities have regulations stating that applicants who are already enrolled in a PG programme at their institution or one at another are not eligible for admission until after they have successfully completed the programme.
Meanwhile, as per the official website of the NBE," candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota/State quota seats may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard."
