BCECE Eligibility Criteria 2023: The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is the exam conducting authority for the BCECE examination. The BCECE examination is conducted to provide admissions into the medical, agriculture, and engineering institutes recognised by the Government of Bihar.
Candidates must thoroughly go through the BCECE eligibility criteria before registering for the examination. The eligibility criteria will include educational qualifications, domicile status, age limit and physical examination. Only the candidates who satisfy the BCECE eligibility requirements will be eligible for appearing in the BCECE 2023 Exam. The eligibility requirements will vary for medical, engineering, pharmacy and agriculture courses. For Engineering and Technology (4 year course)
Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject/ Agriculture /Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship
Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering)
Candidate must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of reserved category candidates) in the above subjects taken together
OR
Passed min.3 years diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of reserved category candidates) subject to vacancies in the first year, if the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted
For Pharmacy (4 year course)
Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and Mathematics/Biology as an optional subject
Note: Candidates currently appearing for 10+2 or equivalent examinations can also apply for BCECE exam 2023, however, they must have acquired the required qualification by the time of counselling.

|
Candidate’s parents are permanent residents of Bihar.
OR
Candidate’s parents are registered as refugees in Bihar.
OR
Candidate’s parents are residents of other states but are employees of the Government of Bihar.
OR
Candidate’s parents were employees of Government of Bihar before reorganisation and their employee cadre is yet transferable between Bihar and Jharkhand.
OR
Candidate’s parents are holding posts in Government of India and are posted in Bihar or are employees of a central organisation operated by Public sector Undertaking of Government Of India.
OR
Candidate’s parents are employees of the national union and are currently posted in Bihar

Physical Examination
|
Selected candidates will be given admission only if they clear the medical examination. The medical examination will be conducted by the appointed doctors. Candidates must note that there will be separate fees for the physical examination.

Age Limit
|
- For engineering courses, there is no age limit.
- For pharmacy courses, the minimum age limit is 17 years.

Age Limit
|
For admission into Bihar Agriculture University (Bhagalpur), the minimum age limit is 16 years. No maximum age limit has been prescribed.

BCECE Reservation Criteria 2023
As per the official BCECE 2022 notification (latest), the following reservation criteria will be applicable for providing admissions to the candidates appearing in the BCECE examination:
- Citizens of Bihar who have been declared under reserved category by the Government of Bihar and who possess a valid caste certificate shall enjoy the benefits of reservation
- Candidates falling in the reserved category will be allotted the seats reserved for them on the basis of their category merit list
- Candidates who are not the residents of Bihar will not be eligible to claim seats under the reserved categories
- Reserved categories for BCECE exam 2023 will be decided on the basis of the list of SC/ST/EBC/BC created by the Government of Bihar before announcing the dates for the online BCECE application process

BCECE Reservation Criteria 2023: For Disabled Quota
Candidates must be aware of the following BCECE reservation criteria that is applicable as per the disabled quota:
- Out of the total number of seats available, 5% seats will be reserved for the candidates falling under the disabled category
- Candidates with any kind of disability should get their certificate attested by Chief medical Officer/Board and attach the same with the Part A and Part B forms along with an attested full-sized photograph
- The certificate produced by the candidate must explain the category, percentage and status of disability, etc.
- Candidates with disability will only be admitted to those programs in which their disability does not affect the successful completion of the course
- Such candidates will be allowed to pursue a particular course after a thorough check-up, for which additional fee will be charged
BCECE Reservation Criteria 2023: For Service Men’s Quota
Candidates must be aware of the following reservation criteria that will be applicable as per the service men’s quota:
- Sons and daughters of servicemen and ex-servicemen who are residents of Bihar can claim seats under the Service Men’s Quota (SMQ)
- A separate merit list will be prepared for the candidates applying for SMQ seats based on their score in the BCECE examination
- If no candidate claims the seats under SMQ, then those seats shall remain vacant
- Personnel who have formerly served under the Jammu & Kashmir Militia will be treated as “Ex-Service Men”
- As per the Ministry of Defence, the following new categories of Territorial Army personnel will also be considered as “Ex-Service Men”:
- Pension Holders of the continuous embodied service.
- Disabled Territorial Army personnel with disability attributed to Military Service.
- Family Pension Holders
