NEET UG Cut Off 2025: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) is the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses across India. The cut-off marks play a crucial role in determining who qualifies for counselling and admission to these courses. With over 22 lakh candidates appearing in NEET UG 2025, understanding the nuances of the cut-off after results and during counselling is essential for aspirants.

Understanding the cut-off, both the qualifying marks announced post-results and the college-specific closing scores during counselling rounds, is crucial for candidates to navigate the highly competitive admission process effectively and secure seats in reputed government and private medical colleges. Only those who meet or exceed the qualifying cut-off are allowed to participate in the medical/dental counselling sessions. Qualifying is the first step; admission depends on the marks/rank obtained relative to other candidates during subsequent counselling rounds.

What is NEET UG Cut off?

The NEET UG cut-off is the minimum score or percentile a candidate must obtain to qualify for admission into medical colleges. The cut-off serves two main purposes:

Qualifying Cut-Off: Declared after the NEET results, this defines eligibility to participate in medical counselling.

Admission/College Cut-Off: The actual closing score/rank at which admissions to specific colleges (in both All India Quota and State Quotas) conclude during various counselling rounds.

The qualifying NEET UG cut-off is the minimum mark a candidate must obtain to pass the NEET 2025 exam, whereas the NEET cut-off for admission is the last rank at which admission is granted. The NTA has announced the NEET UG cut-off marks 2025 in the form of qualifying marks along with the NEET UG Results. The cut-off range is mentioned in the NEET result press release PDF available on the official website. The NEET cut-off varies for different categories based on the reservation norms. The admission cut-off for NEET UG 2025 will be out after the NEET Counselling result 2025.
