NEET Counselling 2023: Stray Vacancy Round to Conclude (Soon)

NEET stray vacancy round will soon come to an end. Currently, the reporting to the colleges is ongoing and the last date to report the colleges is set as September 30, 2023.

What's new in NEET Counselling 2023? NEET UG round 3 stray vacancy round is set to come to an end. The last date to report to the colleges is set a September 30, 2023.  With that, NEET UG Counselling will come to an end. Further, NEET UG Exam 2024 dates has also been released. NEET UG result 2024 will be held on May 05, 2024.

MCC is preparing to initiate the NEET stray round counselling, scheduled to commence on September 21, 2023. The final date for registration for NEET stray vacancy 2023 has been set as September 23, 2023. In the meantime, September 20 marked the conclusion of the NEET UG round 3 counselling.

NEET UG counselling round 3 reporting process came to an end on September 18, 2023. The reporting process began on September 10, 2023. Now, on September 19, 2023, the verification of joined candidate data will begin. Once the verification process has been completed, then MCC will begin with the NEET UG stray round counselling.

After the completion on round 3, MCC will begin with the NEET stray vacancy round for candidates. The registration for NEET stray vacancy round will begin on September 21, 2023 and the last date to fill the registration is September 23, 2023.

Meanwhile, NEET Counselling round 2 concluded on August 30, 2023. With that, the NEET UG counselling round 3 registration 2023 began on August 31, 2023.

NEET Counselling 2023 Round 2 Seat Allotment Result was released on August 18, 2023. Candidates can visit the official website to check and download the result.  Further, on August 19, 2023, the process of uploading the required documents on the official NEET portal will be done.  Later, from August 20, 2023 to 28, 2023 candidates were required to join colleges. 

NEET counselling 2023 registration for round 2 has been started on August 09, 2023. Now, on August 10, 2023,  MCC started with the choice-filling process. The choice-filling process will be completed on August 15, 2023. After the completion of choice filling, MCC will begin with NEET Seat allotment process 2023.

Further, the last date for NEET counselling 2023 registration for round 2 is set as August 14, 2023. Meanwhile, the NEET UG Counselling 2023 choice filling will begin on  August 10, 2023. 

NEET counselling seat distribution result 2023 has been announced by MCC. After the declaration of result, MCC began with the verification of joined candidates Data by institutes Sharing of data by MCC. The process of started on August 05, 2023, and concluded on August 06, 2023.

Meanwhile, the round 1 result was released on the official. Candidates who appeared for this round will now be able to check their results and move to the next round.  Those candidates who accepted the assigned seat were required to report online to the given college between July 31 to August 04, 2023.

Also, MCC has announced the provisional seat allotment for NEET UG Counselling Round 1 on its official website. Candidates who registered for the counselling of NEET UG can download the provisional seat allotment list for round 1 from the link given below:

NEET UG Counselling Seat Allotment (Round 1)

NEET counselling 2023 registration round 1 concluded on July 25, 2023. The next step in the NEET counselling 2023 is choice filling. NEET choice filling 2023 started on July 22, 2023. The last date of NEET choice filling 2023 for round 1 is July 26, 2023. Meanwhile, the other procedures of result, uploading documents on MCC portal, reporting and joining and data verification will continue till August 06, 2023. NEET UG counselling 2023 is taking place for 15% AIQ seats. Further, the state-wise NEET UG Counselling 2023 for 85% seats are also going on. NEET Counselling 2023 has 4 rounds and MCC has released the NEET Counselling schedule 2023 for all 4 rounds. 

NEET UG Counselling 2023

According to a recent update, a common counselling process will be made for all admissions to the MBBS as well as other undergraduate courses related to medicine for all medical colleges in India. Further, MCC will conduct the counselling process based on the NEET UG merit list 2023. The NEET Merit List is of two types - 15% AIQ Merit List and All India Rank (AIR) Merit List. The MCC Will conduct the NEET UG Counselling 2023 for the 15% AIQ Merit List students and those dates are yet to be announced. 

The merit list is prepared based on the NEET scores 2023. As per the NEET UG counselling eligibility, candidates must have a minimum score to participate in the counselling round. Also, they must be 17 years of age as of January 31, of the year of admission. NEET UG counselling 2023 will be held by MCC in online mode. Candidates who have qualified the NEET UG exam 2023 are eligible to participate in the counselling process. 

NEET UG Counselling 2023: Candidates who wish to be considered for NEET UG counselling must score above 15% All India Quota Cutoff. There are two types of NEET UG merit lists for students. While the first one is 15% AIQ merit list, the second is the  All India Rank (AIR) merit list. NEET UG counselling 2023 consists of 4 rounds including - Round 1, Round 2, Mop up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. The first two rounds of the counselling process are for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and deemed & central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and AFMC. Round 3, also known as NEET UG Mop-Up Round, is conducted for the rest of 85% of state quota seats.

The NEET UG Mop round does not include 15% AIQ seats. The final round of the counselling process is the NEET UG stray vacancy round which is for those students who have not been selected in Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. If the seats are still left vacant, then these seats are given for the stray vacancy round to respective institutes or colleges. Once all four rounds of the NEET UG counselling process 2023 are completed, additional rounds of counselling will be conducted to fill the seats which have remained vacant. 

MCC releases the NEET UG Cutoff 2023 in the form of opening and closing ranks. NEET UG opening rank is the highest rank, which corresponds to the maximum marks, and the closing rank is the lowest rank. The NEET UG Cutoff for AIIMS Delhi was 1-55 for the year 2022. The closing rank for Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi was 91 in the year 2022. It is expected that AIIMS Delhi's NEET Cutoff will be 1-50, while Maulana Azad's will be 1-85. The NEET UG results 2023 were declared on June 13, 2023. As per NEET UG Counselling's expected dates, the counselling can be conducted between July and October.

State-wise NEET UG 2023 Counselling Dates

NEET state-wise Counselling 2023 has been released for various states. The state-wise NEET UG counselling is done for 85% of seats which is conducted by the respective state governments. Candidates can take at different dates for the NEET UG state-wise counselling dates 2023. 

Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2023 Counselling  

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Tamil Nadu began the NEET UG Counselling 2023 on July 25, 2023. Further, the last date to submit the application form is July 31 at 5 pm. In order to begin the registration process, candidates need to visit the official website at tnmedicalselection.net.

Later, on August 01 to 02, 2023 the process of NEET UG seat allotment 2023 will be held. Further, on August 03, 2023, the result for seat allotment will be released. On August 04 to 08, 2023, candidates will be able to download the provisional seat allotment.

Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2023 

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra began with the NEET UG counselling registration process on July 24, 2023. Candidates who have qualified the NEET UG exam 2023 are eligible to appear for the counselling process. Candidates can register on the newly launched official webiste cetcell.net.in/NEET-UG-2023 to register for the counselling. 

J&K NEET UG 2023 Counselling 

Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) will begin the Jammu and Kashmir NEET UG 2023 Counselling from July 19, 2023. Candidates who have qualified NEET UG exam 2023 can apply for the J&K NEET UG Counselling 2023 till July 23, 2023. Candidates can visit the official website -- jkbopee.gov.in

Gujarat NEET UG 2023 Counselling

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) began with the Gujarat NEET UG 2023 counselling registration process. Gujarat NEET UG 2023 counselling registration last date to apply was set as July 24, 2023, till 5 PM. Once the registration process is done, the process for document verification and submitting the photocopies was held from July 17, 2023, at 10 AM. Candidates can visit the official webiste to register themselves for the counselling process.  

Karnataka NEET UG 2023 Counselling 

Karnataka Examinations Authority, KEA started with the NEET UG Counselling on July 14, 2023. Candidates who wish to apply for the counselling round can visit the official website and apply for the counselling process.  The last date to register for the Karnataka NEET UG 2023 counselling was July 21, 2023.

Punjab NEET UG Counselling 2023 

Punjab NEET UG Counselling 2023 registration started on July 13, 2023. Candidates who have qualified the examination can apply for counselling process through BFUHS, Punjab.

Telangana NEET UG Counselling 2023 

The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Telangana has begun the NEET UG counselling 2023 from July 07, 2023. Those students who are qualified can apply for counselling through the KNR  University of Health Sciences's official website -- tsmedadm.tsche.in. Candidates can apply for Telangana NEET UG Counselling 2023 till July 14, 2023.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET Counselling 2023 

Apart from Telangana, the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Itanagar has also released the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Counselling Dates 2023. As per the official notification, the process of online registration and documents begun on July 07, 2023, and the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG counselling  2023 registration last date is July 18, 2023. Further, on July 26, 2023, DHTE will release the list of eligible registered candidates.  Also, candidates will be given the provision to fill their choice and lock their seats from July 28 till August 07, 2023. Meanwhile, the first round of seat allotment will start on August 09, 2023.

AYUSH Counselling Dates 2023

AYUSH Counselling Dates 2023 will soon be announced by the Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC).  AACCC will conduct the counselling for 15% of AIQ seats in government and government-aided institutes for UG courses including (BAMS/BUMS/BSMS/BHMS). 

Meanwhile, for the rest of the 85% of seats, state-wise AYUSH Counselling 2023  will be conducted by respective states. Similar to the NEET UG counselling process 2023, the AYUSH counselling also has 4 rounds including Round 1, 2, Mop-up and stary vacancy. Dates for all 4 rounds are expected to be released soon as the NTA has already declared the NEET UG results 2023.

How to Register for NEET UG Counselling

Another important aspect of MCC NEET UG counselling is the registration process. Here are the steps through which candidates can register for the NEET UG counselling. 

Step 1: Candidates need to go to the official website of NTA 

Step 2: On the homepage, candidates will find the link that reads the 'New Registration Round' tab 

Step 3: Now, the candidate needs to select the 'New candidate registration' tab 

Step 4: Now, the candidate needs to read the given instruction and click on the 'I agree' check the tab 

Step 5: Candidates have to enter mandatory details such as NEET UG roll number, NEET UG application number, mother’s name, date of birth, and security pin

Step 6: Click on 'submit' 

Step 7: Once clicked on submit,  credentials will be generated and sent to the registered email address

Step 8: Candidates have to complete the registration form by entering personal, educational, NEET 2023 results and other details and uploading of scanned photograph and signature

Step 9: Pay the registration fee and take a printout of the registration confirmation page

NEET 2023 Counselling Eligibility Criteria

In order to participate in the NEET 2023 counselling process, candidates are required to follow these eligibility criteria: 

  • First and foremost, the candidate must have cleared  the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)
  • Candidates must have registered themselves on the official website of MCC 
  • All applicants may take part in the counselling for AIQ seats and designated universities, including those who are from the UT of J&K.

Reservation of AIQ Seats in NEET 2023

The Government of India has established 10% EWS reservation for 15% of the population and 27% OBC reservation (Non-Creamy Layer). Candidates are chosen through NEET UG counselling for MBBS (contributed by the State/UTs to the Central Pool) for undergraduate (UG) All India Quota seats (MBBS/BDS). This reservation is valid as of the current academic year (2021–2022).

Documents Required for NEET Counselling 2023 

Candidates who will report to the institutes which have been assigned to them for confirmation of the seat must carry the following documents with them:

  • NEET admit card 2023
  • NEET result 2023 or rank letter
  • Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
  • Valid, non-expired and government-issued photo ID proof
  • Six to eight passport-sized photographs (preferably the same as the one submitted with the NEET 2023 application form)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  • Provisional allotment letter

NOTE: Candidates are required to carry both original and photocopies of the above-mentioned documents.

The first round's empty seats will be carried over to the second round. The seats that remain open after the second round of NEET counselling 2023 will be moved to the respective state quota. Through a mop-up round of NEET 2023 counselling, the vacant seats in the AIQ quota of Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and ESIC colleges would be filled. The institutional round or stray round of NEET Counseling will fill any open seats.

Choice Filling 

Once the registration process is completed, candidates need to fill in the choices by logging into the registered account on the MCC portal

  • Candidates need to select the course/college in the desired order of preference 
  • Candidates are allowed to fill in any number of choices from the list provided
  • Candidates also have the option of adding/deleting a choice 
  • Further, candidates  can also move up/ move down a choice as per their preference
  • Once done with choice filling, candidates must save a copy of the choices filled for future reference 

Seat Allotment 

On the basis of AIR obtained by the candidate, NEET 2023, and the choices filled in the registration form, a seat allocation list will be prepared

The seat allocation results will be uploaded on the MCC's official website. 

Reporting to the college allotted 

Candidates who receive seats in NEET 2023 counselling must show up at the designated institutes for document verification and seat confirmation. A candidate's candidature will be revoked if they accept the seat that has been offered to them but fail to report to the offered institute by the deadline.
