The National Testing Agency is expected to release the NEET result 2026 by June 2026 (tentatively). Once the confirmed date is announced, it will be updated in this article.

The National Testing Agency will activate the link to download NEET UG Results 2026 on the official website. The NEET Result 2026 will be declared in the form of a scorecard, which will be accessible via the NEET Result 2026 link. Moreover, the exam conducting body will also publish the merit list of successful candidates in order of All India Rank (AIR).

 It is important to note that the NEET UG 2026 score is valid for one year only,i.e, admission to the academic year 2026-27 only.

NEET Result 2026: How to Check?

NTA will release the NEET results 2026 in online mode. Once released, candidates will be able to download the scorecard by following these simple steps. 

Step 1: Visit the official website for NEET UG - neet.nta.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the link for NEET UG result 2026 on the home page 

Step 3: Candidates must now enter their application number, date of birth, and security pin 

Step 4: The NEET 2026 scorecard will be displayed on the screen

The formula given below is used to calculate the NEET percentile score:

 NEET Percentile =  100 x Number of aspirants with his or her raw score equal to/ less than the aspirants

                                       Total number of aspirants who appeared for the exam

NEET UG Result 2026: How to Utilise NEET Scorecards

• The NEET 2026 results may be used by Central and State Government bodies as per their eligibility criteria, norms, and applicable regulations.
• The result data will be utilised for admissions to B.Sc. (H) Nursing programmes, adhering to their respective eligibility criteria and guidelines.
• NEET results will be used for admissions under the 15% quota of the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) in recognised Veterinary Colleges. The VCI must approach the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW, to access the result data.
• Aspirants seeking admission to the B.Sc. Nursing program at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals must qualify NEET. 
• NEET scores will be used for shortlisting candidates for the four-year B.Sc. Nursing course.

NEET Result and Merit List 2026

The NTA will release the merit list for candidates based on their results for the NEET UG exam. The NTA also releases an overall merit list for candidates, which contains the details of all the students who have cleared the examination. Further, NTA shares the same merit list with the different bodies responsible for the counselling process. On the basis of this merit list, the seat allotment list is prepared by MCC and various counselling authorities.  

Types of NEET Merit Lists 

There are 3 types of merit lists issued by the exam regulatory body. Take a look at different merit lists here : 

1. Overall Merit List: This type of merit list includes the name of the candidate along with their rank. The merit list is prepared by the NTA, and this is the final merit list for all the candidates. Further, the NTA will forward these merit lists to all counselling bodies, both national and state.
2. 15 per cent AQI merit list: Candidates who have qualified for the NEET medical entrance exam will find their names on this type of merit list. The Medical Counselling Committee is the body that prepares the merit list. 
3. State Quota merit list: This type of merit list is prepared by each state for 85 per cent of the state quota seats. Only those candidates can find their name on this merit list who have qualified for NEET UG and registered for the counselling of that respective state.

NEET UG 2026: Previous years' statistics

The National Testing Agency conducted the NEET UG 2025 for more than 22 lakh candidates at 5468 different centres located in 552 cities throughout the country and 14 cities outside India on May 4, 2025, from 2:00 P.M to 5:00 PM.

In 2024, NEET UG witnessed the highest number of students who registered for the exam compared to the last five years. Here are the statistics of how many students registered, appeared and qualified for the exam. 

The examination was also conducted in 14 cities outside the country in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait City, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, and Singapore.

NEET Result 2026 Validity

NEET Results 2026 validity for universities located in India: The NEET result will only be valid for the current academic session for candidates who desire to apply for MBBS programmes within India.

NEET result validity for a university located abroad: The NEET result 2026 will be valid for three years for those applicants who want to register for MBBS programmes outside of India.

NEET Result 2026: What's Next?

Following the release of the NEET Result, the actual admissions procedure starts. Then, candidates must research the colleges to which they can apply to prepare for the NEET counselling process. After the NEET 2026 results are out, each applicant will be aware of their specific rankings.
