NEET UG Books 2026: Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) exam will require students to rely on the latest books and study material to prepare well for the examination. Important Preparation Tips for NEET UG Exam

NEET Syllabus 2026

Candidates must be aware of how many questions will be asked from which topic in each subject area before taking the NEET entrance exam. Chemistry, Physics, and Biology are the three courses that make up the NEET syllabus for 2026. However, the maximum number of questions in the exam comprises the Biology topic. Furthermore, the Biology subject is split into two sections: Zoology and Botany. Topics from the Physics subject, including  Optics, Electrostatics, Thermodynamics, etc have high weightage. 

NEET 2026 Exam Pattern

As per the latest exam pattern, there will be 180 compulsory questions (45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 in Biology), which the candidates have to attempt in 180 minutes (3 hours). While appearing for the medical entrance exam, candidates will be given an OMR sheet wherein they will mark their responses with a ballpoint pen. Thus, it is important for candidates to know the OMR sheet properly and how to mark responses on it. Take a look at the number of questions asked in each section.

Candidates will get four marks for each correct answer. Since the exam has negative marking, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted if a candidate has left the question unanswered.
