SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility: The Staff Service Commission(SSC) releases the SSC CGL 2024 official notification on the official portal. Once the official notification is released, candidates aspiring to appear for the SSC CGL exam are advised to read the notification carefully to know the post-wise SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility.

If the candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria laid out by the SSC, then he or she is eligible to appear for the examination. However, if the candidate fails to fulfil the eligibility, then he or she will not be eligible to fill the application form. The SSC CGL exam will be conducted in two tiers - Tier 1 and 2. Those who will qualify for the Tier 1 exam will be eligible to appear for the Tier 2 examination. 

SSC CGL notification has prescribed the detailed application dates, eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern and the expected vacancies, among other important information related to the recruitment process. However, SSC is entitled to amend the notification at any time before the exam process is completed. 

The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC CGL application form 2024 on June 10, 2024. Eligible candidates will be able to register for SSC CGL till July 11, 2024.

SSC CGL 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the SSC CGL examination 2024 are advised to carefully understand the eligibility criteria and relaxations provided by the commission. Thoroughly understanding the eligibility criteria is important because SSC will disqualify the candidate in the document verification round if the candidate is unable to fulfil the eligibility criteria. SSC CGL 2024: Nationality Status 

The candidate aspiring to apply for SSC CGL exam must fulfil the following eligibility criteria regarding Nationality: 

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962

Candidates of Indian origin who have migrated from the following countries with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply for the SSC CGL 2024 Exams:

  • Pakistan
  • Burma
  • Sri Lanka,
  • East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopi 
  • Vietnam

SSC CGL 2024: Eligible Date of Birth 

As per the SSC CGL official notification, the date of birth of candidates applying for the exam must be between certain dates as of January 01, 2022. The SSC CGL age limit and eligible date of birth for applying to various posts are mentioned below:

SSC CGL 2024: Category-Wise Age Relaxation

SSC has several provisions of age relaxation for candidates applying for the combined graduate-level examination. This age relaxation is based on the gender, social category and profession of the applicants. The various SSC CGL age relaxation are mentioned below in a tabulated format:

SSC CGL 2024: Post-wise Educational Qualification: 

Candidates applying for the SSC CGL 2024 exam must have a minimum bachelor's degree.  However, certain posts have specific educational qualification requirements. Candidates can check the detail of  SSC CGL educational qualification  in the below-mentioned table:
