PPSC Exam 2025: Prelims Exam Date, Registration, Vacancies, Eligibility

PPSC Exam 2025: Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) conducts recruitment exams to various posts under the government of Punjab. The Punjab State Civil Services Examination is being conducted after four years in April 2025. The exam date for preliminary exam will be announced soon. The Commission has released a detailed notification for the same has been released on January 2, 2025 at ppsc.gov.in.

• The PPSC application form is now available at the official website. Candidates interested in appearing for the preliminary exam can register online till January 31, 2025.

It is advisable for candidates to first check the PPSC eligibility requirements before filling the application form. After the successful registration, candidates will be able to download their PPSC admit card from the website.

PPSC Exam 2025

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) conducts the Punjab State Civil Services Examination. Candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and have cleared the Class 10 examination with Punjabi as an optional/compulsory subject are eligible to take the Punjab Civil Services Examination. 

The Punjab Civil Services Examination is conducted in two phases: preliminary examination and main examination. The preliminary exam consists of General Studies and CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test). The preliminary examination is a screening test for shortlisting candidates who will be eligible to appear for the main examination. The preliminary exam consists of multiple-choice questions and there is no negative marking.

The main examination consists of language papers (Punjabi and English), Essay, and General Studies papers. All the papers in the main examination are descriptive in nature and there are 7 compulsory papers. Candidates who secure the required percentage of marks in the main examination are eligible to appear for the interview. Punjab Civil Services aspirants must obtain at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate of all subjects and a minimum of 33% marks in each subject in the main examination to qualify for the interview round.

PPSC Eligibility 2025

As per the eligibility criteria released by the Punjab Public Service Commission, applicants must be in the age bracket of 21 to 37 years (as on January 1, 2025)

Candidates must hold a valid bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in any discipline. Moreover, the candidate must also studied Punjabi as a compulsory language. 

PPSC Exam Pattern 2025

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) releases the syllabus and exam pattern for the Joint Competitive Examination for posts such as Assistant Town Planner, Assistant Architect, Register A-II and Register C, District Defence Services Welfare Officer. The syllabus for most posts consists of subject-related topics, quantitative aptitude, and logical reasoning, and general awareness and current affairs. The exam pattern gives the marks distribution, number of questions and types of questions, and exam duration.
