OPSC Syllabus 2024: The Odisha Public Services Commission (OPSC) releases the syllabus for OPSC exam on the official website. The syllabus is released in the form of a PDF along with the OPSC official notification. OPSC is an exam conducting body that conducts the exam for different positions including Forest Ranger, Lecturer, ACF, OAS, ASO, Medical Officer and ACF.  Candidates intending to appear for the examination can check the syllabus for the examination from the official OPSC website. The OSPC exam has three stages including Prelims, Mains and Personality Test, and candidates have to clear all three stages to get recruited for the post they have selected.  Since there are 3 stages of the exam, the syllabus for Prelims and Mains are different from each other. The Prelims syllabus has two papers. Both papers are general studies.  However, the syllabus structure of both exams is different from one another. 

Candidates who will obtain minimum qualifying marks in the Prelims stage will then be eligible to appear for the OPSC Mains exam. The Mains syllabus consists of papers including Odia-language, English, English Essay, and General Studies-I & II papers. The syllabus also consists of two optional subjects having two papers each as given in Schedule III. 

OPSC Syllabus 2024 

It is important for candidates to be well-versed with the OPSC syllabus before starting the preparation for the recruitment examination. The examination includes various positions. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the next level of the examination. Apart from the syllabus, the OPSC exam pattern and marking scheme are also extremely important for candidates as they will give them an idea of which topics in the exam consist of a maximum number of marks and other details.

Meanwhile, the question types in both exams are asked in MCQ format, and the entire duration of the exam is 4 hours which means the candidate has to complete each paper in 2 hours.

OPSC Prelims Syllabus 

The OPSC prelims syllabus has two papers and both the exams are of general studies. However, the syllabi of both the exams are different. Questions in both papers will be asked in MCQ format. Further, each paper is two hours duration.

OPSC Syllabus For Mains Exam

The OPSC Mains is the second step for those candidates who are appearing for the recruitment examination. Candidates who will qualify for the prelims will be eligible to appear for the Mains exam. The syllabus for the Mains exam consists of topics such as Odia-language, English, English Essay, and General Studies-I & II papers. While Odia and English language papers are of 300 marks, paper III is of 200 marks and papers IV and V are of 300 marks.

OPSC Stage 3: Personality Test 

The third stage of the OPSC examination is the personality test. This part carries a total of 250 marks. Candidates who will qualify for prelims and Mains will be eligible to appear for the personality test. The personality test is also known as an interview and candidates have to qualify at this level in order to be recruited to the posts they have filled for. 

To ace the personality test, candidates must be well-versed in the syllabus they have studied at the graduation level. Further candidates should also have a good idea of the day-to-day general knowledge.
