Thapar University offers an extensively wide range of courses in multiple disciplines. From basic entry-level UG and PG courses to diploma and certificate programs and PhD level courses are all offered at Thapar University.

Admission to Thapar University is based on various national-level entrance exams like GATE, JEE Main, NEET, CAT/MAT/XAT, GMAT, GPAT, and others. However, for a few professional courses like an MBA, university-level exams are conducted i.e. TMAT ( Thapar Management Aptitude Test).

For courses like MA and MSc admissions are completely merit-based while BTech admissions include scores of JEEMain followed by counselling process.

Interested applicants must meet the common eligibility requirements in different domains for admission to Thapar University. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from relevant disciplines is required for UG courses, whereas a graduate degree in a relevant subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate is needed for admission to PG programs. • For admission to BA

Interested candidates must have passed 10+2  or equivalent from a recognized Board, with a minimum of 45 % aggregate marks or equivalent.

• For admission to B.Sc

• For admission to MA

Interested candidates should have completed their 3-year BA program from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the relevant subjects.

• For admission to M.Sc

Eligibility Criteria - Interested applicants must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

The subjects include Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional.

Selection Criteria - Scores of national-level exams i.e. JEE Main followed by counseling process.

Eligibility Criteria - Interested students must have a graduate degree in any discipline, with at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university. 

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory subjects.

Selection Criteria - Scores of university level exam - TMAT and scores of CAT/MAT/XAT will also be considered.

Eligibility Criteria - Interested candidates must have completed their  BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.

Selection Criteria - The final selection process will be based on GATE scores.

Thapar University  PhD Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria -  Interested students must have done their masters from any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades.

Students must have studied the relevant subjects in their post-graduation for different specializations.

Selection Criteria - Final selection includes - 

Appearing for a university-level qualifying exam including a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Interview Round.

The candidates who have qualified for any of these exams  UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GPAT/ SLET will receive a monthly fellowship of around 20,000/-
