Nirma University is situated in Ahmedabad, which is a diverse, research-focused, private university. It has quickly become a nationally recognized higher education institution in its brief history. The University and its constituent institutes are highly ranked by different ranking agencies. As per the NIRF ranking 2023, the university has ranked 61st position in management category and 37th in Pharmacy category.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has legally recognized Nirma University in accordance with Section 2(f) of the UGC Act.The University has received an A+ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) both include the university as a member. The Gujarat government designated the university as a Center of Excellence (CoE) in January 2022.

• Admission to different programs is based on the eligibility requirements and the merit list in the university’s entrance exam.
• Entrance exams such as, JEE Mains, GATE, CMAT, GPAT, CAT, NATA, GUJCET, UGC-NET (Including JRF) UGC-CSIR NET (Including JRF).
• To be eligible for the entrance exam, an applicant must register online at the university's website. 
• After paying the required annual tuition, the candidate will be provisionally admitted to the program based on their merit and if they meet the eligibility requirements.
