Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) Lucknow came into existence in 2006, formed under the law passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2005. RMLNLU Lucknow is spread across a campus of 40 acres in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, situated within the proximity of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court and the UP Vidhan Sabha. 

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University offers Five- year BA.LLB course and One-year LLM program as its prominent courses. PhD courses are also available within RMLNLU. The courses developed in the line of NLSIU Bengaluru, the university fulfills its foundational aim.

RMLNLU Lucknow was founded to promote and share an understanding of law and legal processes, as well as their significance in national development. RMLNLU Lucknow has been functioning in achieving this aim successfully, it has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). NLU Lucknow (RMLNLU) has been consistently ranked in the NIRF rankings, its rank has significantly improved from being 21 in 2023 to being 20 in 2024. 

NLU Lucknow has is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, a central library to a moot court, air-conditioned buildings, campus-wide internet facility, an Auditorium, round table conference rooms, sports facilities, Banking and a Shopping plaza are some of the infrastructural facilities provided at RMLNLU Lucknow. 

Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow has MoUs signed with various national and international institutions, offering exposure to students. The amalgamation of different learning techniques and the sharing of resources benefit students. Apart from fulfilling all the student needs, RMLNLU Lucknow has an established Internship and Placement committee to oversee the recruitment. NLU Lucknow students are supposed to undergo mandatory internship as part of their program. The students have previously done internships with law firms like Aditya Gaur and Associates, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Law Times Journal government organizations like National Human Rights Commission, U.P. state law commission, GAIL (India) Ltd. RMLNLU Lucknow Admission 2025: Eligibility and Exam

RMLNLU Lucknow admissions are done through the CLAT examination, conducted every year as an eligibility test for law admissions in various national law universities. CLAT 2025 exam dates have been announced with registrations live since 15th July 2024.

Undergraduate Program: Candidates who have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/PH)  from any recognized institution are eligible to apply for CLAT UG 2025.

Postgraduate Program: Candidates having an LLB degree or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) from a recognized institution are eligible to apply for CLAT PG 2025.

NLU (RMLNLU) Lucknow provides internship and placement opportunities to its students. It is done through the Internship and Placement Committee of the University. The main objective of this committee is to minimize the gap between students and recruiters and streamline the recruitment process. It arranges pre-placement talks and seminar sessions for students with able recruiters. According to NIRF data 2024, the Median salary for undergraduate students and postgraduate students was recorded INR 7 LPA.
