CLAT Application Form 2026: The registration window deadline for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 has been extended till November 7, 2025. According to an official notification dated November 5, CLAT 2026 candidates have been provided an opportunity to edit their test location preferences indicated in the application form on or before 11:59 PM on November 9, 2025. Candidates may also take this opportunity to review and correct their name, date of birth, programme applied (UG/PG), and reservation eligibility. Earlier, the last date to apply was set as October 31, 2025. The application submission for CLAT 2026 began on August 1, 2025. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) conducts the CLAT exam annually. CLAT 2026 is a national-level admission test held for applicants who are planning to pursue law. The examination is conducted both for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants interested in pursuing their law degree from National Law Universities in India. CLAT 2026 will be held on December 7, 2025.

The CLAT 2026 exam date has been announced by the Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities on July 20, 2025. CLAT 2026 is scheduled to take place on December 7, 2025. The registration window is open from August 1, 2025, till October 31, 2025. Candidates who have successfully registered will be eligible to download their CLAT admit cards once released online.

CLAT Application Form 2026: Steps to Register

Candidates who wish to register for the CLAT 2026 exam can check the steps to register below:

  • Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat
  • Select the “Register” option on the home page
  • Fill out the required information, such as one’s contact details
  • Select the preferred and top choice for the law schools
  • Select the preferred course
  • Upload the required documents
  • Cross-check the information from the confirmation page
  • Select “Confirm”
  • Pay the registration fee
  • For future use, print the application form copies.

Note: After the registration is completed, applicants will need to activate their accounts for further processes. This can be done by signing up on the official website by entering one’s mobile number and a one-time password. They will receive an email or a text message with an OTP that they will need to enter on the website. Once the process is completed, they will have successfully activated their accounts. Applicants will need to use the same credentials whenever they want to log in to the official website.

CLAT Application Form 2026: Documents Required

The CLAT 2026 application form would be the same for the 5-year Integrated LLB courses and 1-year LLM programs. As a result, when filling out the application, candidates must choose their course of choice. The aspirants must first register on the Consortium's official website in order to complete the application form.

Before students start filling up the application form, they must have the following documents:

  • Scanned photograph  (JPEG/JPG and Passport size, less than 500 KB)
  • Scanned signature (JPEG/JPG, less than 100 KB)
  • Category certification for SC/ST/OBC category (if applicable)
  • Relevant certificate for PwD or BPL candidate (if applicable)
  • A valid email ID and mobile number
  • Class 10th and 12th valid and official mark sheets
  • Address proof and government-issued IDs (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN Card, etc.)

Applicants must pay the CLAT registration fee, without which their application form will not be verified and will stand cancelled. The fee would differ for different categories. Moreover, it could be paid through Net Banking, Debit, and Credit cards.
