Founded in 1993, the Academy of Maritime Education and Training Chennai (AMET Chennai) is a maritime educational institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Positioned as a technology-centric academy for advanced education, it attained recognition as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, of 1956. AMET provides a comprehensive range of programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., and various other courses in the fields of engineering, maritime education, and training.

AMET Chennai provides full-time B.Tech programs and B.E. programs with six specializations. Candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2 education are eligible to apply for admission to these courses.
