IIT JAM Counselling 2025: Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025 has released important dates and joining schedules declared by admitting institutes on its official website jam2025.iitd.ac.in. The official schedule for in-person registration, orientation, fee payment, and commencement of classes for JAM 2025 at all participating IITs has been released. Candidates must strictly adhere to these institute-specific timelines for successful admission and onboarding.

The Joint Admission Test for Masters 2025 was conducted by IIT Delhi on February 2, 2025. IIT Delhi has released the counselling schedule for IIT JAM candidates on the official website. The admission portal for JAM qualified candidates has opened March 26, 2025 onwards. Registration window for candidates to register online was opened till  April 11, 2025.

The IIT JAM admission process is conducted majorly in four rounds. The admission offer to the candidates will be made on the basis of their All India Rank, availability of seat, and cut off lists. This will be determined by the IIT JAM results 2025. The result for IIT JAM exam was announced on March 18, 2025.

IIT JAM Counselling 2025: Highlights

Before applying for counselling sessions, candidates must understand the whole process of IIT JAM counselling. The pointers below will give a brief overview of how the counselling process works.

• While submitting the admission registration form, candidates are required to fill in their course and institute preferences
• Once the results are out, IIT Madras will release merit lists based on All India Ranks allotted to qualified candidates
• These candidates will then receive invitations for counselling session via email
• After the counselling, candidates are required to upload all the required documents to continue the verification and admission process

IIT JAM Admission List 2025

The conducting IIT releases around four admission lists for the IIT JAM exam every year. These admission lists are prepared on the basis of All India Ranks offered to candidates, and the number of seats available in all IITs. Check the admission list schedule below:

Step 2: Log in to the JOAPS portal using your credentials

Step 3: You will be redirected to the allotment page

Step 4: Check the institutes offering you admission

Once the candidates are offered admission, they get the options to perform the following functions with their respective admission offers.

1. Accept and Freeze: This option will let the candidates accept the admission offer and pay the fees to secure and confirm their admission
2. Accept and Upgrade: This option lets the candidates accept the current admission, however if they believe they may get a better offer in the next list, they can upgrade their offer accordingly
3. Reject: This option lets the candidates reject the offer they receive if it does not suit them and withdraw their names

IIT JAM Counselling 2025: Documents Required

After the IIT JAM counselling process is over, candidates are required to submit a series of documents for the verification and admission process. Here is a list of these documents:

• Class 10 marksheet & certificate
• Class 12 marksheet & certificate
• Birth certificate
• IIT JAM 2025 score card
• Photo ID proof
• Undergraduate passing marksheet
• Undergraduate degree certificate
• Certificate of nationality
• Certificate of reserved categories (if applicable).

Once candidates submit their application with these documents, they will then be required to pay the seat reservation fees. The seat booking fees for IIT JAM exam 2025 varies for candidates belonging to different categories:

A total of 21 IITs are participating in the IIT JAM exam 2025. These institutes include IITs in Bangalore, Bombay, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Indore, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Madras, Mandi, Dhanbad, Bhilai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Gandhinagar, Patna, Palakkad, Roorkee, Ropar, and Tirupati. 

Candidates can choose and apply for any of these participating institutions, based on the courses they are offering. The courses and institute preferences are to be filled in the admission registration form before the counselling process begins.
