IIT JAM Counselling 2024: Check the Expected Dates, Required Documents, and Eligibility Criteria

IIT JAM Counselling 2024: The Joint Admission Test for Masters 2024 was conducted by IIT Madras on February 11, 2024. The official exam and important dates are available on the website jam.iitm.ac.in. The admit cards for the same was released on January 8, 2024. 

The applications for IIT JAM counselling started on April 12, 2024. The last date to register for counselling process was April 24, 2024. This is after the declaration of the results on March 20, 2024. Candidates who qualified in the IIT JAM result will be invited for counselling. 

As per the schedule, the IIT JAM final additional round list is now available at the official website. Candidates who applied for counselling in the additional list can check the admission list for their allotted seats. Last date to pay the seat booking fees is July 5, 2024.

The admission offer to the candidates will be made on the basis of their All India Rank, availability of seat, and cut off lists. This will be determined by the IIT JAM results 2024.

• While submitting the admission registration form, candidates are required to fill in their course and institute preferences

Once the candidates are offered admission, they get the options to perform the following functions with their respective admission offers.

1. Accept and Freeze: This option will let the candidates accept the admission offer and pay the fees to secure and confirm their admission
2. Accept and Upgrade: This option lets the candidates accept the current admission, however if they believe they may get a better offer in the next list, they can upgrade their offer accordingly
3. Reject: This option lets the candidates reject the offer they receive if it does not suit them and withdraw their names

IIT JAM Counselling 2024: Documents Required

After the IIT JAM counselling process is over, candidates are required to submit a series of documents for the verification and admission process. Here is a list of these documents:

• Class 10 marksheet & certificate
• Class 12 marksheet & certificate
• Birth certificate
• IIT JAM 2024 score card
• Photo ID proof
• Undergraduate passing marksheet
• Undergraduate degree certificate
• Certificate of nationality
• Certificate of reserved categories (if applicable).

A total of 21 IITs are participating in the IIT JAM exam 2024. These institutes include IITs in Bangalore, Bombay, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Indore, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Madras, Mandi, Dhanbad, Bhilai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Gandhinagar, Patna, Palakkad, Roorkee, Ropar, and Tirupati. 

Candidates can choose and apply for any of these participating institutions, based on the courses they are offering. The courses and institute preferences are to be filled in the admission registration form before the counselling process begins.
