The University is located on a 422 acre campus with 324 staff residential units and 121 academic, administrative, and assistance buildings with a plinth area of about 20 lakh square feet. Currently, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Vizinagaram, and Srikakulam are the five green districts of Andhra Pradesh that the university serves for educational needs.
The 365 affiliated colleges that fall within Andhra University's territorial purview are dispersed throughout five districts. About one lakh students attend Affiliated Colleges. Presently, the university has five constituent colleges and four AU campuses. The motto of the university is Tejasvi nāvadhītamastu, which means "May the Divine Light illuminate our studies." At Andhra University, there are 313 undergraduate, graduate, and diploma programmes offered including 42 postgraduate programmes. The Andhra University Engineering Entrance Test (AU EET) is used to determine admission to all engineering programmes. The institute also administers the Ed CET and AUCET entrance exam for admission to other UG & PG programmes, respectively. The university also offers most of the UG & PG programmes through distance learning mode as well.
Andhra University is a state university which offers its programmes at subsidized fees. Andhra University B.Tech Admission
- Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech program at Andhra University are done on the basis of the AUEET examination conducted by the university.

- Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate courses like MA, M.Sc, M.Com at Andhra University must appear for the AUCET entrance examination.
- Following the conclusion of the exam, the university releases the merit list based on which final admission is granted to students.

Andhra University Facilities & Infrastructure
Hostel Facilities: The university campus has 10 hostels solely for women with a capacity of more than 2000 seats, 23 hostels for men with a capacity of more than 3200 students, and more. Two hostels were built specifically for international students.
Medical centres: Andhra University campus has both allopathic and homeopathic medical centres. A doctor is always available at both centres to give first aid to students in case of a medical emergency.
Library: The University Library, formally known as the Dr. V.S. Krishna Library is one of the largest in the country, with around 400,000 books. Many national and international periodicals in various fields are subscribed to by the library. For the use of the pupils, there is a Reading Room adjacent to the Library. The Reading Room and Textbook Section are open 24*7.
Games & Sports: The campus has two playgrounds, the Silver Jubilee Playground and the Golden Jubilee Playground. In addition, there is also a Gym to promote physical fitness among students.
Cyber Laboratory: As a support service facility, the university campus contains a cyber laboratory for students and employees. Anyone on the campus can make use of it after becoming a member of the laboratory.
