IISER Mohali: Ranking, Admission, Placements and Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali: IISER Mohali will be selecting candidates for admission to its various programmes through IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024 . This year, IISER Bhopal is conducting the IAT 2024. The aptitude test is scheduled on June 9, 2024. 

IISER Mohali aims to produce a new generation of scientists and impart good quality higher education in the field of science. It aims to emerge as a global centre of learning, academic excellence and innovative research. The institute is equipped with state of the art equipment and world class faculty who are committed to high value teaching and research. IISER Mohali is an autonomous institution and it awards its own degrees.

IISER Mohali started its academic programme in 2007, with a batch of 25 students in the five year BS - MS Dual Degree Program.  The PhD Program was started in 2008 and  the Integrated PhD program was started in 2012. The IISER Mohali Admission 2024 will start soon after the IAT Exam. 

In the IISER Mohali Placement 2023, a total of 284 students graduated from its 5 year BS MS dual degree programs and PhD programmes. Out of these, 10 students were offered different packages with median package standing at 8.67 lakh per annum (LPA). A total of 110 students were selected for higher studies at various reputable research institutes.

The IISER Mohali is ranked in both research and overall institute ranking in the NIRF Ranking 2023. However, it saw a drop in ranking as compared to that of 2022.

The counselling process will be conducted online. The admission process includes:

• Admission offer will only be provided at the Candidate’s application portal
• Admission offers to any candidate will be given strictly based on Seat availability in the current allocation round, IAT rank, IISER preferences by the candidate and category of the candidate
• After accepting the offer and paying SAF , the candidate can either freeze or float the seat.

Once the students are offered a seat for their admission, the students are required to pay SAF as per their category.

IISERs aim at getting undergraduate students interested in research and creative activities. Almost all the students at the BS-MS level undergo summer projects. In addition, the students undertake a 1 year project along with some coursework in the fifth year.

Visitors Hostel: Accommodation facility is available for IISER Mohali Faculty and Visitors or relatives of the students.

HPC Facility: IISER Mohali's HPC facility is unique. It's a versatile high-performance computing system designed to address the diverse needs of its research groups. This flexibility ensures the facility can be easily upgraded in the future to accommodate new research demands.

Sports Facilities: The Sports facilities include Athletics track, BasketBall Court, Throwball & Volley ball Court, Badminton & Table Tennis, Chess and a huge ground to play Cricket, Football, Kabbadi and Kho Kho.
