According to the official notice shared by the UGC, the minimum qualifying mark for the general category is 40% whereas for the reserved category is 35% for both papers.

Who releases the UGC NET 2023 Cut Off?
The National Testing Agency, NTA is responsible for releasing the Cut Off of UGC NET. Candidates who wish to get a shortlist for the position of JRF or Assistant Professorship, are required to secure qualifying marks in both the papers of UGC NET. The UGC NET Cut Off is always released on the official website of the NTA -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The UGC NET Cut Off is the minimum qualifying mark required for candidates to clear the UGC NET Exam. At first, the NTA releases the provisional answer key after which the students have the opportunity to raise objections.
Once the students raise objections, the education body then analyses the objection, and then, the results are made. Lastly, NTA releases the results along with the final answer key. Finally, the exam conducting body afterwards releases the Cut Off.
The NTA was established as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization body by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI). When Will the UGC NET 2023 Cut Off be Released?
The UGC NET 2023 Cut Off will soon be released on the official website. Students who appeared in the exam are advised to keep a close eye on the official website of the National Testing Agency. Before the Cut Off, the NTA will release the answer key and results.
The NTA conducted the UGC NET December 2021 & June 2022 (merged cycles) in 05 Phases. Meanwhile, the exam conducting body released the UGC NET results 2023 on April 14, 2023, and with that, the Cut Off will also be declared. The NTA carried out the UGC NET exam from February 21 to March 16, 2023.

How To Calculate UGC NET Cut Off Marks?
The NTA assures that the qualified candidates should be equal to 6% of candidates who appear for the exam. Further, the slots that are available for the candidates are according to the government rules on the reservation.

Applicability of the UGC NET
Once the candidate has cleared the UGC NET exam, more than 80 recognised universities accept the UGC NET scorecard in order to offer relevant positions to the students.

What after the UGC NET Cut Off?
First, the students either need to clear the UGC NET exam or the JRF exam. If a student has passed the UGC NET exam, then he or she will be given a stipend of Rs 8,000 per month, whereas candidates who will clear the JRF exam will receive a monthly payment of Rs 35,000. However, the stipend for the JRF may vary from different universities.
Candidates who will clear the NET exam will be eligible to secure the position of Assistant Professor, whereas students who will pass the JRF exam are assured to secure a position of Assistant Professor in universities, and colleges across India.
In order to take the position of Assistant Professor, the student who has cleared the NET has to appear for two other rounds including WAT and interview based on which their selection process will be determined. On the other hand, students who clear the JRF can directly appear for the interview round and are allowed to skip the WAT test. However, even in some scenarios, the interview for the students who have clear JRF is also exempted.
Apart from working as Assistant Professors, students can also work in private sector firms including ONGC, NTPC, EdCIL, etc. However, candidates will only be appointed in these private sector firms only if they have certain years of experience.
