University of Jammu is a public university in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir that was founded in 1969 by an act of the state government. The institute was established when the J&K government split the University of Kashmir into two universities, one called the University Kashmir and the other the University of Jammu. The institute is accredited with Grade A+ by NAAC with a 3.51 score on a four-point scale by NAAC. Popularly known as Jammu University, the institution holds the distinction of being the first university in India to be certified to ISO-9001. With 11 faculties and 36 academic departments, the university offers 61 courses at UG, PG, and doctoral level in multiple specializations. Jammu University Admissions

Majorly, admissions are conducted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam conducted by the university, which is called Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET). This is mainly for the UG programmes as for PG programmes, appearing for relevant exams like CAT or CMAT is mandatory.

The university has a dedicated placement responsible for conducting placement drives for students. Jammu University Placement 2021 witnessed the participation of various companies offering a median package of INR 3.8 LPA to undergraduate students. While, for PG students, the median package remains at INR 4.8 LPA. In comparison to 2020, the institute experienced a roughly 6% rise in the UG and PG median package provided during placement.

Jammu University Facilities 

With the campus spread across 118 acres, the university accommodates more than 8400 students and 326 faculty members. With 80 government and 83 non-government affiliated colleges and 8 off-campus, the university of Jammu provides numerous support facilities to its students and faculty members.
