IIIT Sonepat: Admission, Course, Fees, Seat Matrix, Placements and Infrastructure Facilities

Indian Institute of Information Technology Sonepat was established in the year 2014 by the joint venture of the government of Haryana and MHRD along with multiple industry partners. The institute was established as one of the 20 newly formed IIITs across the country under a public-private partnership mode. The first academic session of the institution started in the year 2014 from its mentor institute, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. The ongoing batch of the institution is running from Shri Balwant Institute of Technology, GT Road Sonepat. However, the permanent campus of IIIT Sonepat is been constructed.

IIIT Sonepat offers B.Tech as its flagship course offered in two specialisations namely Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology. While on the postgraduate level, the institution offers PhD programmes through its CSE, IT, and Humanities branches. B.Tech admission at IIIT Sonepat is based on the score obtained in the national level examination JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. Some of the popular entrance exams accepted by the institution are JEE Main/GATE/UGC NET/CSIR/INSPIRE.

IIIT Sonepat placements 2024 recorded impressive placement statistics for the 2024 placement season. The highest package offered was 40 LPA, while the median and average packages stood at 12 LPA and 15.87 LPA, respectively. For Computer Science Engineering (CSE), out of 41 eligible students, 29 were placed, achieving a 70.73% placement rate, with an average package of 13.88 LPA. In the Information Technology (IT) branch, 28 out of 47 students secured jobs, with a 59.57% placement rate and an average package of 17.87 LPA. Overall, 64 offers were made, with 57 students placed, leading to an overall placement rate of 64.77%.

Infrastructure facilities like accommodation, computer labs, library, cafeteria, and sports facilities are made available by the college to foster the overall development of the students. The library of IIIT Sonepat provides access to physical and digital educational resources relevant to the courses.
