Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhagalpur, Bihar, founded in 2017, by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India as an Institute of National Importance. The objective of IIITs is to provide advanced courses at par with the shift in Information Technology, Creating skilled graduates in the field of Information Technology. 

IIIT Bhagalpur situated in the third largest city of Bihar, since its inception has been offering courses of Technological importance. The major courses at IIIT Bhagalpur are B.Tech and M.Tech degree in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. In 2018 it introduced a new department of Mechatronics Engineering. It also has executive postgraduate courses for working professionals and also provides part-time postgraduate and PhD courses.

IIIT Bhagalpur is currently functioning from the campus of Bhagalpur College of Engineering, a separate building has been provided for the functioning of IIIT Bhagalpur, although the construction of the permanent campus is underway in a 50-acre land provided for the same. The temporary campus is fully residential with hostel facilities for both boys and girls. IIIT Bhagalpur also provides extracurricular activities apart from academics like sports, musicals and cultural facilities to its students for their overall development.

IIIT Bhagalpur Admissions 2025

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhagalpur admits students through the JEEMain and GATE examinations. It is mandatory for a willing candidate to have a valid JEEMain and GATE score, further admissions are determined following the Joint Seat Allotment Authority(JoSA)/ CSAB counseling. Similarly for the M.Tech program admissions are done through CCMT counseling. 

IIIT Bhagalpur admissions for B.Tech courses through JEEMain are open for registrations. JEE Main session 1 is scheduled in January 2025, willing candidates can apply till 22nd November 2024, through the official website.

IIIT Bhagalpur PhD admissions for Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and other allied fields are done through entrance exams conducted by IIIT Bhagalpur. PhD admissions are done twice a year during the beginning of the semesters.
