UPSC Result 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC final result 2023 on its official website, upsc.gov.in. A total of 1106 candidates have been selected. This year, Aditya Srivastava has bagged AIR 1 in UPSC Civil Services 2023 result. The second rank has been bagged by Animesh Pradhan, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy at the third spot.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the prelims results for the UPSC exam tentatively in July 2024. However, there has been no official confirmation yet regarding the same. Candidates who will appear for the UPSC prelims exam will be able to check their results at upsc.gov.in. The commission will release the result in a PDF format containing the roll number and names of selected candidates.

Candidates who qualify the IAS prelims exam will be called for the mains round. It is important to note that selected candidates have to reapply by filling out the UPSC Detailed Application Form (DAF-1). The detailed application form -1 will be released on the official website.

UPSC Prelims Result 2024

The UPSC IAS prelims result is issued after the successful conclusion of the preliminary exam. The results are published in PDF format and include the roll number of selected applicants. Shortlisted candidates are eligible to appear for the UPSC Mains examination. The number of candidates who qualified for the UPSC IAS exam result is 10-12 times the number of posts announced by the UPSC. The UPSC IAS Prelims cutoff in 2021 was 87.5. 

What is DAF Form in IAS exam?

Candidates clearing the IAS prelims result are required to fill up the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for mains examination. The form consists of 6 modules each of which is necessary to fill out. Candidates are also required to pay a fee of INR 200 while filling out the UPSC IAS DAF. 

Service and cadre preferences are two of the most essential categories to fill out in the DAF. It is recommended that candidates think carefully before filling out the service preferences and cadre preferences, since once they have been filled out and submitted, they cannot be changed.

Detailed Application Form 2024: Guidelines

  • Candidates can access the DAF form on the official website of UPSC. The application form is to be filled online only.
  • Candidates must confirm that all columns are correctly filled out. The Commission will not accept correspondence from applicants seeking to modify any of the entries submitted in the online Detailed Application Form.
  • To fill out the Online Detailed Application Form (DAF), candidates must first register at www.upsc.gov.in after qualifying the IAS prelims.
  • Name (as documented on the matriculation/secondary examination certificate), Roll Number (in six digit format), Date of Birth (as recorded on the matriculation/secondary examination certificate), and e-mail address are required on the DAF registration module.
  • Once registered, candidates can login with their email address and password.
  • The DAF form will appear on the screen which has six modules as follows:
  1. Personal Information
  2. Educational Information
  3. Parental Information
  4. Employment Information
  5. Upload documents
  6. Final Submission
  • Candidates must fill out all modules in totality before the Form is submitted online.
  • Candidates must save each module after filling out it. Candidates will, however, have the chance to make modifications to any module before submitting the DAF. Once the Final Submission has been made, no changes may be done online.

UPSC Mains Result 2024

The UPSC IAS Mains result is released after the conclusion of the mains round. The candidates are selected in a ratio of 1:3. For example, if there are 1000 vacancies, around 3000 candidates will be selected for the IAS interview round. The UPSC CSE mains result is released in the form of PDF containing the roll number of shortlisted candidates. The UPSC IAS Mains Cutoff was 745 in the year 2021.

Candidates clearing the IAS Mains cutoff are again required to fill out the UPSC CSE DAF -2 Form. Interested aspirants can check the important details to be filled in the IAS DAF 2 form.

UPSC Final Result

UPSC IAS Topper’s List 2021

Following the conclusion of the interview process, the UPSC publishes a list of all selected applicants. The top 20 rank holders are considered IAS toppers. The rank of a candidate in the UPSC Civil Service Exam is determined solely by the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the Interview. The main exam is for 1750 marks, while the interview is worth 275 marks, totalling 2025 marks.

According to previous year's trends, a candidate must have at least 50-55% to stay in the top 20.
