National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Ranchi: NIAMT, formally known as National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) was founded in the year 1966 in collaboration with UNDP-USESCO.
NIFFT is officially registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The Institute is managed by a Board of Governors, which includes a Chairman and members from the Government of India (specifically from the Ministry of Human Resource Development and industry), AICTE, as well as representatives from both private and public sectors, technical organizations, and research and development groups.
Recently, NIFFT changed its name to the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT). Over the past six decades, NIAMT has placed itself as a top institution for education, training, research and development, consulting, and providing documentation and information services in manufacturing technology and related academic and industrial fields.
NIAMT is located on the southern edge of Ranchi along the Ranchi-Chaibasa highway. It is about 10 kilometers from Ranchi Railway Station and approximately 6 kilometers from Ranchi Airport. National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology has six primary teaching departments: Electronics and Computer Engineering, Foundry Technology, Forge Technology, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and Applied Sciences and Humanities.
Apart from the picturesque campus NIAMT is equipped with a variety of laboratories, including a Rapid Prototyping Lab, CAD-CAM Lab, Ceramic Lab, Internet Laboratory, Sand Laboratory, Metallography Lab, Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) and many more. The workshops and laboratories are well-equipped with modern and advanced instruments to ensure effective training.
The Industrial Liaison Cell which is the placement cell of the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT) Ranchi, for the past five decades NIAMT students have been placed at some of the most prestigious organizations like Tata Motors, Hyundai, Bajaj, Hero, JAL, Hindustan Motors, Volvo, BHEL, Mahindra, TVS, Reliance, Hinduja Foundry, L&T and more.

NIAMT (NIFFT) Ranchi Admission 2025
The National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Ranchi admissions are done through national level eligibility exams conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for Engineering.
NIAMT B.Tech admissions are done through JOSAA counseling based upon JEE Main results. Candidates willing to pursue B.Tech at NIAMT must appear for the JEE Main examination and register for JoSAA counseling.
Similarly NIAMT M.Tech admissions are done through CCMT counseling. Candidates registering for CCMT counseling must have a valid GATE result. The GATE exam is around the corner, it is scheduled to take place from 1st February to 16th February 2025.
