The University of Delhi is set to publish the initial seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Round 1 today, July 16, at 5 pm. Applicants who have completed the CSAS registration and preference-filling stages will be able to view their assigned college and program on the official admission website—ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Complete all admission process steps within the specified timeline. The window for seat acceptance will be open from July 16 until July 18, 2026, at 11:59 PM, while the verification of documents at the college level will occur from July 16 to July 20, 2026, concluding at 4:59 PM. The final date for submitting the admission fee is July 21, 2026, by 11:59 PM.

Delhi University opened its undergraduate admission portal, the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), on June 26, 2026, after the release of the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). The officials said that as of 8.30 pm on Monday, DU received around 65,343 registrations for admissions to the UG courses for the 2026-27 academic session through its Common Seat Allocation System.

According to Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi, the university aims to streamline the process and shorten allocation rounds to ensure that classes begin on schedule and avoid the academic delays seen in previous years. To make the process smoother, the university is also updating the CSAS portal with more user-friendly prompts to help guide applicants and reduce registration errors.

Candidates will need to register themselves on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal using their CUET-UG 2026 application number. From this year onwards, key details of candidates such as their name, date of birth, photograph and signature have been auto-integrated through the Government of India's API Setu. This initiative was launched to reduce data-entry errors and enhance security.

The university has also fixed a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of Rs 250 for candidates from the unreserved, OBC-NCL and EWS categories, while SC, ST and PwBD candidates will need to pay Rs 100. Candidates will be offered admission to 73 different UG courses and over 100 BA programme combinations in approximately 67 colleges based on their CUET-UG 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.

Once the registration and admission process for phase one is over, candidates will also have to map their CUET-UG exam papers with the subjects studied in Class 12 in the second phase too. The Delhi University has said that only those language and domain-specific CUET papers corresponding to subjects passed in Class 12 will be considered to determine the programme-specific eligibility and calculate candidates' scores.
Based on the subject mapping, the university will determine candidates' eligibility before inviting them to fill in their programme and college preferences.
Candidates should be aware that the schedule for the second phase of CSAS has not yet been announced, and it is expected to be announced shortly. 

A critical requirement for applicants this year involves "subject mapping," where students must ensure their CUET paper selections closely align with their Class 12th curriculum. Specifically, the university requires at least 50% similarity between the two to qualify for the mapping process. While the NTA has completed the scheduled CUET-UG exams from May 11, 2026, to May 31, 2026, DU officials confirmed that the multi-phase admission process, starting with registration and followed by subject mapping and seat allocation, will remain heavily dependent on the release of these entrance results.
