The CSIR NET exam pattern sheds light on topics such as the duration of the exam, the total number of subjects and questions, and other information. Candidates can take a look at the following CSIR NET exam pattern below: 

  • The CSIR NET question paper is bifurcated in three sections, including Part A, B, and C.

Part A 

  • Questions on general aptitude will be included in this section, with an emphasis on logical thinking, visual analysis, analytical and numerical skills, quantitative comparison, series construction, riddles, etc.

Part B 

  • shall include conventional multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the subject matter that are connected to the curriculum.

Part C

  • should include higher-level questions that may gauge a candidate's understanding of and/or ability to apply scientific principles. The questions will be analytical, requiring the applicant to use their understanding of science to solve the provided scientific problem
  • The total marks of the examination are 200 marks 
  • The exam consists of negative marking, which means that 25 per cent (33 per cent for a few parts) will be deducted for each incorrect answer. 
  • The exam format is objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • The total duration of the examination is three hours, and candidates are not allowed to take any breaks in between.
