TOEFL Result 2023: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores are typically available approximately six days after the test administration. However, the precise timing of score release may vary depending on the specific test type selected by the candidates. For instance, individuals who took the TOEFL exam at a designated test centre will receive their results separately from those who opted for the TOEFL home edition.

It is a widely accepted proficiency test used by applicants planning to migrate, work or study in foreign countries. Submitting a language test score in one’s application is an admission criterion in many organizations and schools. Each section of the TOEFL test has a different score range defined by the Educational Testing Services (ETS), which is the exam-conducting body. When the result is made available, students will receive their four-scaled section scores and also the total score. This means that each section of the exam will have a score range of 0-30, and these are added together to form a score range of 0-120.

Latest Update: With the updated upcoming version of the exam, which is going to be issued on 26th July 2023, the conducting body will increase the score transparency.

TOEFL Result: How To Access?

Checking the TOEFL result is a simple process wherein students are required to log in to their ETS account to have access to the achieved scores. The exam conducting body will send an email whenever the result is available- as mentioned earlier, it will most likely be available 6 days after the test date. Applicants are advised to download the score report as a PDF file and print it as well. If not happy with the result, students can retake the exam by paying the re-test TOEFL exam fee.

Result Online- The TOEFL online result can be checked through one’s ETS account. Make sure to keep the login details safe because it would be necessary to login into one’s existing account (the one used for registration) in order to check the declared scores and result online. 

By Mail- Applicants also have the option of getting their score reports in a physical copy through the mail. It will be mailed 11–15 days after the scheduled test date, or sooner depending on the test type if students requested a paper copy of their score report before the test. The time of the delivery depends on the local postal services.

By Fax- The "TOEFL iBT Additional Score Report Request Form" must be completed by students, who can download it from the ETS website. Send the form, the registration information, and the payment (by debit or credit card) by fax to 1-610-290-8972.

TOEFL Result: Sending Scores to Recipients

After the result is available, the TOEFL score report can only be sent to a total of four desired universities or organizations. These have to be selected during the registration process. To send the report to additional colleges, a fee would need to be paid. The day before the test, up to 10 p.m. (local test centre time), students can add or remove recipients through their ETS account.

Applicants won't be allowed to ask for a score review for the Writing and/or Speaking sections if they select any institution or organization to receive the results.

TOEFL Score Validity

If students have acquired exceptional scores and do not wish to attempt the exam again, they can use the same score report for a duration of 2 years. That simply means that the TOEFL result will be valid for up to two years.
