SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit
The SSC JE age limit varies based on the selected post and categories. Generally, the age limit falls between 18 and 32 years. Further, age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen, as per government norms.
Note that when applying for the exam the Date of Birth indicated in the candidate’s 10th class, Secondary Examination Certificate or equivalent document will be required. Requests to alter this information at a later time will not be entertained. Below are the Age Limit Relaxation details for various reserved categories:
- Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD candidates: 10 years
- PwD + OBC: 13 years
- PwD + SC or ST: 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen (Unreserved or General): 3 years after subtracting the military service duration from the original age
- Candidates originally born and permanently residing in Jammu & Kashmir between 01-Jan-1980 to 31-Dec-1989: 5 years
- Defence Personnel disabled during any operation against a foreign nation or in a disturbed area and subsequently released due to this:
- General or OBC: 3 years
- SC / ST: 8 years

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2024: Nationality
To be eligible for the SSC JE exam, candidates should belong to any of the regions mentioned below. They are qualified to participate in the exam, as per the SSC JE Notification, if they meet any of the nationality criteria outlined as follows:
- An individual who holds Indian citizenship.
- A resident of Bhutan.
- A resident of Nepal.
- A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India prior to 1st January 1962, with the intention of establishing permanent residence in India.
- A person of Indian origin who relocated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, Zambia, or Vietnam, with the intention of settling permanently in India.
