Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur: IIIT Manipur was founded in 2015, it is one of the 20 IIITs in India established under the Ministry of Education, Government of India as ‘Institute of National Importance’ under the Public-Private partnership. 

IIIT Manipur was established to develop Manipur as a preferred destination for Information Technology (IT) related manpower and industry. IIITM focuses on high-quality research and development in the field of IT. It offers B.Tech degrees in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), as well as PhD programs in CSE, ECE, Humanities, and Basic Sciences from its campus located in Mantripukhri, Imphal.

The average fee for IIIT Manipur B.Tech courses is INR 1,10,000 per semester, with additional mess fees, registration and other charges. The admissions for B.Tech courses are done through JEE Main examinations and JoSAA counseling. The Training and placement cell at IIIT Manipur, which oversees recruitment drives and internships of students has continuously attracted major industry companies. In 2023 and 2024 the total placement percentage of IIIT Manipur was 81.6% and 85.2% respectively, with the highest package of INR 12.5 LPA and INR 40 LPA.

The admissions at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Manipur like any other IIIT are done through JEE Main examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and JoSAA Counseling. The seats are allocated as per CSAB norms.

Candidates with valid JEE Main results need to register for the JoSAA Counseling round, the seats are further allotted through CSAB norms as per the JoSAA cutoff. In 2024 the IIIT Manipur cutoffs started from the rank 80652 for the open category (B.Tech CSE) and rank 102880 for the open category (B.Tech in ECE), candidates can check JoSAA previous year cutoff from the official website.

IIIT Manipur Placement 

The training and placement cell at IIIT Manipur oversees the recruitment and internship of students, it has previously placed four batches, and the fifth batch is prepared for placement. The alumni of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur have been placed at esteemed organizations like Cognizant, Infosys, Deloitte, TCS, Amazon, IBM, Zensta, Jio, Publicis Sapient, Naykaa, Hexaview, Sigmoid and more. 

According to the latest placement report of IIIT Manipur, it recorded 81.5% and 76.2% placement percentages in 2023 and 2024 respectively. The departmental placements in 2024 were 84% (CSE) and 64.71% (ECE). The highest CTC offered to CSE graduates from IIIT Manipur in 2024 was INR 40 LPA and INR 8.8 LPA  to ECE graduates, with an average salary package of INR 8.7 LPA (Overall).
