Hooghly Engineering & Technology College (HETC) is a self-financed engineering college established in 2004. It is run by the Hooghly Engineering & Technology College Society, a non-profit group focused on promoting technical education. The college is affiliated with MAKAUT, approved by AICTE and recognized by UGC, and has NAAC accreditation with a B+ grade.
Admission to the B.Tech programs is mainly based on WBJEE rank. 90% of seats are filled through WBJEE, while the remaining 10% are filled through JEE Main as per government norms. Diploma holders can take admission directly into the second year through JELET. A few seats are also reserved under TFW and PwD categories.
