NIOS 12th Exam 2025: Dates, Admit Card, Pattern, Syllabus & Question Papers

NIOS stands for the National Institute of Open Schooling. NIOS is a national level board which is responsible for conducting the secondary and senior secondary examinations in India. The board also offers a variety of vocational and life enrichment courses to the learners.

In order to be eligible for NIOS admission into senior secondary (class 12) courses, the student must have acquired the age of 15 years or above. The student must also have passed the secondary course from a recognized board. The list of recognised boards is available on the official NIOS website.

For the April 2025 session, the NIOS class 12 practical exams will be conducted from March 17 to April 1, 2025. 

Yes, this year, the NIOS class 12 exam will be conducted in the offline mode at the various examination centres authorised by NIOS.

The board conducts the NIOS class 12 examinations twice a year in two sessions (April/May session and October/November session).

As per the NIOS certification criteria for class 12, students must pass in 5 subjects including at least one but not more than two language subjects.

Students must score a minimum of 33% marks separately in theory and practical exams (wherever applicable) and also in aggregate in order to pass the NIOS 12th examination.

Open the official website of NIOS in your browser. On the website’s homepage, go to the “information about” section and then click on the “admission” option. Next, go to the “exams and results” section and click on the link for “previous year question papers”. From here, you can download the required NIOS class 12 past year papers.

Yes, NIOS class 12 previous year papers are available for all class 12 subjects on the official portal of NIOS. The NIOS 12th previous year papers are available free of cost on the official website.

Candidates can follow the steps that are provided here to know how to check their NIOS class 12 result 2025. Go to the official NIOS website, click on the “admission” tab and then go to the student portal. Click on the “exams and results” tab, select the results option and then click on the check result link. Next,  enter your enrollment number and captcha and then your NIOS 12th result will be displayed on your screen.

Visit the official NIOS student portal, click on “exams and results” tab and then click on the results tab. Click on the “check results” option and then click on the “apply recheck/re-evaluation” tab. Next, enter the required details and pay the processing fee (Rs 50 per correction).

You can calculate your CGPA by adding the grade points of your 5 subjects and dividing the total by 5.
