IBPS SO Eligibility 2025 - The eligibility requirements for IBPS SO exam are released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection along with the official notification. Before filling the IBPS SO application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility laid out by IBPS.
The IBPS SO Preliminary Exam for 2025-26 cycle is expected to be conducted in November 2025 (tentative date). The IBPS SO eligibility does not typically change every year. However, any changes in the eligibility requirements will be updated in this article. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility in terms of nationality, age limit criteria and educational qualifications. The IBPS SO eligibility is given below.
IBPS SO Eligibility 2025 - Nationality
To apply for IBPS SO Exam 2025, a candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: A candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall provide a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India
IBPS SO Eligibility 2025 - Age Limit
As per the age limits set by IBPS, a candidate applying for IBPS SO 2025 examination must be above 20 years and below 30 years of age. Age relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to the Reserved categories. Candidates can take a look at the age relaxations in the table below.
