The Northeastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST): NERIST, Nirjuli was founded in the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, in 1984 as a higher education institution focused on science and technology. It is a deemed-to-be-university, autonomous, fully funded and controlled by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. 

The undergraduate programs at NERIST are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute offers programs like B.Tech, M.Tech, Diploma, Certification, M.Sc, MBA and PhD in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology.

The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) is situated in a picturesque valley at the base of the Eastern Himalayas, specifically in Nirjuli within the Papumpare district of Arunachal Pradesh. NERIST is 12 km from Assam and well connected through the national highway 52A, it also divides the campus into two parts. The capital city Itanagar is 19km from the campus. Arunachal Pradesh is renowned for its stunning orchids and verdant hills, creating an ideal setting for technical education amidst serene and untouched surroundings. 

The Placement Cell at NERIST is fully equipped to facilitate on-campus recruitment drives, conduct online interviews, and administer online screening tests as needed by visiting organizations. The students received 165 offers from over 29 companies in 2024. NERIST has partnered with organizations to provide training to its students, a few training partners are companies like AAI, BSNL, Indian Oil, HAL, Indian Railways, NEEPCO, ONGC, IIT Madras, and more.

The placement cell at NERIST has been facilitating placement, training, and career counseling for students in alignment with the evolving demands of the industry. In addition to recruitment drives, the Placement Cell also arranges Industrial Training for B.Tech pre-final year students, lasting 30 days or 4 weeks, as part of the curriculum. 

Over the years NERIST has seen a significant growth in the number of companies visiting the campus for recruitment. In 2023, 26 companies visited the NERIST campus for recruitment. Similarly, in 2024, 29 companies visited the NERIST campus for recruitment, providing 65 and 165 placement offers to students respectively.
