ICT Mumbai Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Selection & Seat Matrix
The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT Mumbai) offers a range of courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels in engineering, biotechnology, architecture, medicine, pharmacy, basic sciences, etc.
ICT Mumbai's flagship course is the Master of Technology (M.Tech.). To be eligible for admission to the ICT Mumbai M.Tech. program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) with a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.0 CGPA for general and OBC candidates, and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.
Seats are then allocated based on the candidate's score in the national-level Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination, followed by a centralized counseling process by the Centralized Counseling for Masters of Technology (CCMT). In the academic year 2021-22, ICT Mumbai admitted 692 students to its postgraduate programs. The tuition fee for the ICT Mumbai M.Tech. program is INR 45,000 per year.

ICT Mumbai Admission 2024
In addition to its own entrance exam, ICT Mumbai uses other national-level entrance exams, such as the GATE for M.Tech. and the NET/GPAT/JRF for Ph.D., in its admissions process.

ICT Mumbai admission to a four-year undergraduate degree in regular & integrated modes in Dyestuff Technology, Fibres and Textiles Processing Technology, Food Engineering and Technology, Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Polymer Engineering and Technology, and Surface Coating Technology.
The Government of Maharashtra will conduct all admissions to these courses. The seat availability for these courses will be as follows:
- 70% of students from the state of Maharashtra
- 30% of students from all over India (including Maharashtra)
Applicants must have a valid MH-CET/DTE scorecard to be eligible for admission.
ICT Mumbai M.Tech. Admission 2024
ICT Mumbai offers a two-year postgraduate degree in Dyestuff Technology, Food Engineering and Biotechnology, Surface Coating Technology, Fibres and Textile Processing Technology, Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Polymer Engineering and Technology, Green Technology, and Perfumery and Flavour Technology.
The selection criteria will be a national-level entrance examination (GATE/GPAT) scorecard. At level 1, first preference will be given to GATE/GPAT-qualified candidates from the respective program. Candidates need not sit for the written test and interview.
For vacant seats left at level 1, a merit list will be prepared for candidates with a valid GATE scorecard from different programs and written tests or interviews conducted by the institute. ICT Mumbai Ph.D. Admission 2024
ICT Mumbai offers full-time doctoral degrees in a variety of disciplines, including chemical engineering, nanotechnology, civil engineering, electronics engineering, pharmaceutics, chemistry, and mathematics.
The selection of all Ph.D. (Tech.) candidates, including those who have qualified for the GATE/GPAT-JRF, will be based on their score in the qualifying exam, their performance on the written test, and their performance in the interview (if they are shortlisted based on the written test). The entrance exam score administered by ICT will be valid for two academic years: the academic year in which the candidate took the exam and the following academic year.
Students who rank first in their bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, technology, pharmacy, or science from any CSIR/UGC/AICTE-recognized Indian university, institute, or statutory body are eligible to apply for the INSPIRE Fellowship, a Government of India scheme that provides research grants for five years to pursue a Ph.D. degree. Bachelor's degree holders with the INSPIRE Fellowship must register for an integrated Ph.D. program from the beginning of their research.
