TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility 2024

The TNPSC group 1 exam will be conducted in July, 2024. Candidates appearing for the exam must fulfil the following eligibility requirements in order to appear for the paper: 

TNPSC Group 1 Age Limit 2024

Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1)

1. Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. 


2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to candidates who possess National awards for physical efficiency. 

Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes)

1. Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. 


2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to candidates as follows;

  • Candidates who hold both B.Com. degree and B.L. degree together with a Diploma in Taxation Laws
  • Candidates who hold both B.Com. and B.L. degree
  • Candidates who hold either B.Com. degree or B.L. degree together with a Diploma in Taxation Laws
  • Candidates who hold either B.Com. degree or B.L. degree

Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies

Candidates must possess a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Assistant Director of Rural Development

1. Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. 


2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to candidates possessing any of the following qualifications; 

  • Post Graduate Degree in Rural Services of the Gandhigram Rural Institute 
  • Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Extension. 
  • Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Sociology. 

District Employment Officer

1. Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.


2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to graduates in Economics, Education, Sociology, Statistics, Psychology and to those with Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and experience in industrial or personnel management or labour welfare.

District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services)

Candidates must possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

TNPSC Group 1 Medical & Physical Requirements

  • Candidates are required to provide a medical certificate of physical fitness at the time of joining.
  • Except for Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) and Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, candidates are required to have visual ability of Standard III. Candidates with defective vision must provide a certificate of eye fitness from an eye specialist at the time of joining. 

TNPSC Group 1 Language Requirements

Candidates applying for TNPSC group 1 services must have an adequate knowledge of the Tamil language while applying for the exam. Candidates will be considered for having adequate Tamil knowledge only if they have passed the Tamil Nadu SSLC/HSC/degree examination or any other equivalent qualification.

TNPSC Group 1 Admit Card 2024

The TNPSC Group 1 admit card is released a few days before the examination commences. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets by visiting the official website of TNPSC. Candidates appearing for preliminary or main examination must remember that TNPSC will not send the admit card by post. The hall tickets will only be made available online at tnpsc.gov.in. Candidates are required to download their hall ticket using their login credentials. 

TNPSC Group 1 Result 2024

The result for TNPSC group 1 exam will be announced once the examination is concluded. The upcoming TNPSC group 1 preliminary exam will be conducted on July 13, 2024. Candidates can expect the result for the same to be declared a few weeks after the exam is concluded. Candidates who qualify in TNPSC group 1 prelims will be eligible for appearing in the TNPSC group 1 mains examination. Candidates who qualify in the mains will move for an interview. The final result for TNPSC group 1 exam will be announced once the interview round is concluded. Candidates will then be appointed for posts in TNPSC Group 1 services.
