UCEED Exam 2026: IIT Bombay conducts the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) exam every year for aspiring candidates who wish to secure admission to B.Des program in IITs and other design institutes. UCEED registration 2026 will start on October 1, 2025 at 5 PM. Candidates will be able to apply for the UCEED exam 2026 till October 31, 2025 without any late fee. Eligible candidates can fill out the registration form for the UCEED exam through the official website - uceedapp.iitb.ac.in, once the application window is activated. UCEED 2026 exam is scheduled on January 18, 2026 at 9 AM to 12 noon.

UCEED notification 2026 will be released indicating the start of the registration process on October 1, 2025. IIT Bombay will further release the complete schedule soon on its official website - uceedapp.iitb.ac.in. Those preparing for the exam must be familiar with the pattern and syllabus. According to the UCEED 2026 exam pattern, the exam is of 3 hours. It consists of two parts with a total of 300 marks in Part A and Part B. UCEED admit card is expected to be released in January 2026.

Only 5 out of the total IITs offer design courses at the undergraduate level through the UCEED exam 2026 - IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Roorkee. The Indian Institute of Information Technology - Jabalpur, also known as IIITDM Jabalpur also offers a B.Des course through the UCEED entrance exam.

UCEED Registration 2026

UCEED application form 2026 will be out at uceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam. In order to register for UCEED 2026, students must pay the application fee, which is as follows:

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2026

The official brochure of UCEED 2026 released by IIT Bombay contains the eligibility criteria required to appear for the exam. Aspirants can check the eligibility requirements below: 

Education Qualification: 

• Candidate must have passed Class XII in all subjects in order to appear for the UCEED exam 2026.
• They should have passed Class 10+2 in 2025 or be appearing first time for the qualifying examination in 2026.
• Students from all STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts/Humanities) are eligible for UCEED.

Age Limit

The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Number of Attempts

• There is a limit of two attempts at UCEED, and those attempts must be done consecutively.
• UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2026

IIT Bombay releases the exam pattern for UCEED 2026 through its official notification. Once released, students will be able to check the structure of the exam. Meanwhile, candidates can check the UCEED exam pattern for the previous year below: 

• There will be ONE question paper of the total THREE hours duration.
• The question paper will be in English only.
• The question paper will carry a total of 300 marks.
• The question paper will consist of two parts: Part-A and Part-B. It is compulsory to attempt questions from both parts.
• Types of questions asked - Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

UCEED Answer Key 2026

IIT Bombay will release the answer key for UCEED 2026 on uceed.iitb.ac.in. The answer key, along with the response sheet, is made available 2-3 days after the exam. Initially, the institute publishes a provisional answer key, allowing candidates to raise challenges if they are unsatisfied with the provided answers. After the challenge window closes, IIT Bombay releases the final answer key along with the results.

UCEED Result 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay will release the UCEED 2025 results as downloadable scorecards accessible through the candidates' portal. Aspirants who took the UCEED exam can download their scorecards using their login credentials. The UCEED scorecard is valid for one year, meaning students must secure admission in the same year.
