Footwear Design and Development Institute popularly known as FDDI was established in the year 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The FDDI Noida campus area is spread across a land of 10 acres and is situated in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The institution is an AICTE-approved college offering UG and PG-level courses in design and related streams and is one of the twelve campuses established by FDDI across the country. 

FDDI Noida offers a B.Des and BBA at the undergraduate level and an M.Des and MBA at the post-graduate level in specialisations like Footwear Design & Production, Fashion Design, Leather, Lifestyle & Product Design, and Retail & Fashion Merchandise. FDDI Noida admission to its UG and PG courses is based on the scores obtained in entrance examinations like FDDI AIST and UCEED. The institution conducts its own entrance test called the FDDI All India Selection Test (AIST) to grant admission to various UG and PG-level courses, followed by a common counselling process based on the candidate's rank in the Paper Based Test (PBT) and their selected preferences. The fees for the B.Des programme offered at the institution cost INR INR 9,42,600 for a duration of four years.

The institution follows a centralised placement process for all of its campuses located across the country. During FDDI Noida placements 2023, the overall placement percentage witnessed was 84% with the active participation of more than 240 recruiters. FDDI Noida infrastructure facilities aim to cater to all modern-day requirements of the students. The FDDI Noida campus comprises a comprehensive library equipped with international journals/magazines and titles, a spacious auditorium and an amphitheatre to provide a platform for the students to participate in and witness various academic and cultural programmes. The institution also has an International Testing Centre (ITC) specially designed to test leather, leather products, footwear, footwear components, textile products, plastics, etc.

FDDI Noida Admission

FDDI Noida admission are done on the candidates performance in FDDI AIST entrance examination conducted by the institution for its both UG and PG level courses. A 10+2 degree from a recognised board in any discipline is the minimum elgivility criteria for admission to B.Des and BBA programmes. While a candidate willing to apply for M.Des and MBA programme at FDDI should hold a bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. 

FDDI admission process follows mandatory registration of the candidates for the FDDI AIST application form with fees of Rs 600 for general and Rs 300 for reserved category candidates. The AIST application process is commenced by the institution in the month of October every year followed by a centralised counselling process to grant final admission. The Training and Placement cell of FDDI follows a centralised placement process for all of its 12 campuses. The placement process takes place at the FDDI Noida campus followed by a structured process including sending invites to the companies, proving the jumbo JD, conducting written tests/ interviews as per the company requirements to recruit students, providing the final job offer, etc. 

The institution also conducts guest lectures, seminars, webinars & events by industry professionals to share insights on the latest trends, market scenarios, entrepreneurship, new sectors, opportunities, etc. The entire placement process is facilitated by the placement cell serving as a bridge between the students and the professional world. FDDI Noida Infrastructure Facilities

Library: The institution has a resourceful library equipped with an array of national and international journals, books, titles, etc. The library also has a diverse range of reading resources, reports, and study material specific to Fashion, Design, Technology, Retail and Management areas.

International Testing Centre: The FDDI Noida campus has an inbuilt ITC for conducting research-based practices of leather, leather products, footwear, footwear components, textile products, plastics, etc for providing hands-on practical learning experience to the students enrolled in diverse design-related courses. It is also the only lab in India which has been certified by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) for ISO 17025 of Germany for chemical and physical testing.

Visual Merchandising Lab: In order to integrate practical and academic learning visual merchandising laboratory has been made accessible to the students and has been equipped with internationally acclaimed visual merchandising software (Mockshop).

Auditorium and Amphitheatre: An amphitheatre with an innovative setup and open seating is made accessible to the students. The institution also has a fully air-conditioned auditorium for conducting various academic and cultural events happening in the college.

Hostel Facilities: FDDI Noida provides accommodation facilities to its students enrolled in diverse courses. Separate boys and girls hostels with accommodation capacity of up to 350 boys and 200 girls are made available by the college. The rooms provided are all fully ventilated and equipped with necessary furniture along with access to basic amenities like a Mess facility, internet connectivity, recreational rooms, etc.

Sports Facilities: To promote the overall development of the students the institution provides access to a range of sports facilities like Tennis, Basketball, Badminton Courts, and Cricket ground within the college premises.
