NIT Mizoram: Admission, Course and Fees, Location, Seat Matrix, Placements and Infrastructure Facilities

National Institute of Technology, Mizoram : NIT, Mizoram is one of the ten NITs established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 2009. The present campus of NIT Mizoram is located in Aizawl. The permanent campus is proposed to be located at Lengpui, Aizawl district. The total demarcated land area for the permanent campus is 190.35 acres. 

NIT Mizoram offers BTech, MTech and PhD programmes in several disciplines. For BTech Admissions, candidates should have a valid JEE Main score and participate in JoSAA counselling. Those who wish to get admitted to the MTech programme must clear the GATE cutoff. The counselling for MTech is done through CCMT. For the PhD programme, candidates who have appeared for the national exam (UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ GATE) are required to appear for an interview. The institute also conducts its own written examination. 

NIT Mizoram placement for the previous year was conducted successfully. Around 85 percent of the students were placed in the top companies. More than 75 organisations visited the campus for the placements. The average CTC of the placed students was INR 7 LPA. The top recruiters are Mahindra & Mahindra, Vedanta, L&T, Adobe, Deloitte, Ashok Leyland, TA Digital, Delta X, Lumiq, KEC International, TCS, Infosys and Alstom.

NIT Mizoram is located in Chaltlang, Aizawl, Mizoram which can be reached through multiple means of transportation. While traveling via air  the nearest airport to reach the institute is  Lengpui (Aizawl) Airport which is 35km away from the college.While traveling via train, Silchar railway station is the nearest to AizawalSumos (share basis) are available from Mizoram House, Sonai Road, Silchar. Even private buses are available in the region which can direct you to the institution.

NIT Mizoram Admissions

NIT Mizoram offers BTech, MTech and PhD programmes in various disciplines. There are six specialisations in BTech and five in MTech. The institute also offers a dual degree for BTech and MTech. About nine departments of NIT Mizoram offer PhD programmes.

Each BTech specialisation mandates an internship in its curriculum. As a result, 100 percent of the undergraduate students completed internships with prestigious organisations. The big names like SAIL, Indian Railways, Airport Authority of India, Bureau of Indian Standards, PHED & PWD in Mizoram, Power Grid, ECIL, BHEL, IOCL, IOL, CDAC, Google, Microsoft and many more offered internships to the students of NIT Mizoram.

Accommodation Facilities: NIT Mizoram has four boys and one girls hostel with amenities like wifi, laundry, mess, electricity and water. Mess facility, offering breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner ensures providing nutritious meals to the students.
