National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand: Located in the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand (land of gods) and the laps of himalayas the National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand is a public engineering institution and technical educational hub in Srinagar(Garhwal) Uttarakhand. The institute is among 31 NITs and one of the newly ten sanctioned NITs by the government of India. Established in the year 2009 and coming into existence in the year 2010 the institute is fully funded by Mininistry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

 The institute serves as foundation for education, research and technology, offering multiple UG, PG and PhD level courses with diverse specialisations serving to the interests area of all the individual. Prominent pilgrimage sites like Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are popularly known as Char Dham Yatra located just 150km from the college campus.

The institutes admits students via courses offered in field of engineering, humanities and social sciences. On the undergraduate level B.Tech in five different specialisation are offered by the college with an eligibility criteria of securing a minimum of 75% in class 12th with PCM or PBM as mandatory subjects of examination in class 12th, which is further followed by securing valid JEE Main score by the candidate to seek admission in B.Tech courses offered by the college based on the JoSAA seat allocation results.The sanctioned intake of students in NIT UK for the B.Tech course is 36 in its diverse branches and admitting a total of 120 students in M.Tech course.

In order to seek admission in M.Tech course at NIT Uttarakhand a candidate should qualify GATE entrance examination with a valid scorecard and register for CCMT counselling. On the other hand GATE/NET examinations are subject to admission in PhD courses offered by the institution. The first semester fees for pursing M.Tech from NIT UK costs INR 72,080 following with a total of four semesters.

NIT Uttarakhand has an exceptional placement record with its Mechanical engineering department witnessing highest placement percentage of 90.91% in the year 2023 for B.Tech while Electrical and Electronics Engineering traced 100% placement in M.Tech programme. In the placement session of 2023 a total of 74  job offers were provided with INR 11 LPA as the highest placement package offered and INR 6.8 LPA and INR 6.5 LPA as the median package offered for B.Tech and M.Tech respectively. In the placement year 2022 INR 34 LPA was witnessed as the highest salary offered to B.Tech student with an average of INR 10 LPA. A well structured placement process is followed by the National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand and the Career Counselling and Placement Cell is responsible for conducting entire placement process happening within the college campus. The average salary offered to the students participating in the placement drive 2023 stood at INR 11 LPA.
