IISER Bhopal: Admission 2024 Dates, Fees, Admission Process, Eligibility and Selection Criteria, Ranking , Placement and Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) will be conducting IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024 for selecting candidates for admission to various programmes at all the IISERs. This year, IISER Bhopal is conducting the IAT 2024. The aptitude test is scheduled on June 9, 2024. 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal was established in 2008 with a vision to provide high quality education and to produce leaders in science and related disciplines. The university has 10 departments offering a number of courses in UG, PG and PhD programmes. The total number of students in IISER Bhopal is 1716. 

Candidates must keep in mind that different IISER offer different programs. IISER Bhopal Admission is offered for Dual Degree Program in Science (BS - MS Dual Degree Program), Bachelor of Science, Integrated PhD program and PhD program.

In the latest Times Higher Education 2021 world ranking, IISER Bhopal is ranked 26th in the national ranking and between 801-1000 in the world ranking. Only 63 Indian institutions were in the world’s top 1000.

The eligibility criteria for the candidates for applying to the IISER Bhopal Admissions are as below.

The counselling process will be conducted online. 

• Admission offer will only be provided at the Candidate’s application portal
• Admission offers to any candidate will be given strictly based on the following factors:
1. Seat availability in the current allocation round,
2. IAT rank.
3. IISER preferences by the candidate, and
4. The category of the candidate

• After accepting the offer and paying SAF , the candidate can exercise two options:  
1. Candidate can FREEZE the seat (they will not participate in further rounds of counselling) or  
2. Candidate can FLOAT (they will participate in further rounds of counselling to get their higher preferences). 

IISER Bhopal Admission 2024: Seat Matrix

The tentative total number of seats available for the BS-MS/BS programme is 1933, with each IISER having the following number of seats.  IISER Bhopal has 255 seats allotted this year.

IISER Bhopal Placement 2024

In the IISER placement 2023, a total of 314 students graduated from its 5 year and 4 year UG Programs. Out of these, 45 students were offered different packages with median package standing at 19 lakh per annum (LPA) in the 5 year UG program in the IISER 2024 placement. For the 4 year UG Program the median package stood at 9 LPA. A total of 259 students were selected for higher studies at various reputable research institutes.

Central Library: Offers a vast collection of books for borrowing and reference, along with access to e-resources through the Digital Library page.

Computer Centre: Provides well-equipped computer labs with Windows or Linux operating systems for academic purposes, assignments, and projects.

Hostels: On-campus housing with separate facilities for boys and girls. Rooms are equipped with basic furniture and amenities.

Hostel Mess: Four messes managed by a student committee provide meals to residents.

Hostel Common Rooms: Common areas in each hostel offer amenities like TVs, newspapers, magazines, and Wi-Fi.
