Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Nagpur: IIIT Nagpur is one of the 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology established by the Ministry of Education under the Public-Private Partnership Scheme in 2017, funded under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, and is supported by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra, and Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai as Industry Partner.

IIIT Nagpur is given the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ by the Government of India. With a campus area of almost 100 acres, IITN offers all the essential facilities and infrastructure to its students like transportation, gym, ATM, eateries, etc.

IIIT Nagpur has been ranked by several ranking bodies for its contribution to education, in 2023 it was ranked 59 in the QS Southern Asia University Rankings and ranked 281-290 in the QS Asia University rankings. It has also been ranked by Times Higher Education World Universities ranking in the 1000-1200 rank band.

All the IIITs are established on the PPP scheme of the Government of India, recognized by the UGC. IIITs are substantially new institutes. IIIT Nagpur offers degrees in Sciences, Technology and Engineering in its three departments, the department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering and the Department of Basic Sciences. 

IIITN provides both undergraduate and postgraduate programs with Doctoral Programs. It has established itself as an important research institution in the country. IIIT Nagpur offers B.E/B.Tech courses, postgraduate and PhD courses in Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering. According to the NIRF 2024 report IIIT Nagpur successfully placed 134 of 197 students from the four-year UG program with a median salary of INR 11 LPA.

IIIT Nagpur Admissions 2025

IIIT Nagpur Admissions to B.Tech courses are done through the JEE Main exam conducted by the NTA and JoSAA/CSAB counseling, similarly, PhD admissions are determined by the GATE exam. 

JEE Main 2025 registrations are live with the exam scheduled to be held in January 2025. Aspiring candidates can register themselves through the official website till 22nd November 2025.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Nagpur offers a B.Tech degree program in Computer Science and Engineering and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with a PG Diploma degree in Artificial Intelligence.

IIIT Nagpur Placements

IIIT Nagpur features a dedicated Training and Placement Department, which is led by a full-time Training and Placement Officer. This department plays a crucial role in guiding students toward achieving their career aspirations. 

The training and Placement cell provides Internship in the final year and the option to opt for placements at the time of completion of degree. IIIT, Nagpur has a compulsory six-month Internship program for students in the final year. Around 80% of the students get the Pre-Placement offer during their internship. 

According to the latest placement data of IIIT Nagpur, around 168 companies visited the IIITN campus for recruitment and the highest CTC was recorded at INR 90 LPA with the average CTC of INR 14 LPA, with Four students securing international placements at SMS Data Tech Japan.
