Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad: IIIT Dharwad, Karnataka was founded in 2015 under the Public Private Partnership scheme of the Government of India, Government of Karnataka and industry partner Keonics, with the aim to address the skill gap in high-end information technology within the country.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad admissions are done through National-level eligibility exams JEE Main and GATE. Further allocations of seats are made in accordance with the guidelines established by the Joint Seat Allocation System (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
