All the registered learners of NIOS April/May 2023 examinations can submit the exam fee for examination of NIOS secondary course (October/November 2023) by July 20, 2023 without late fee. The last date to register and submit the NIOS exam fee is July 30, 2023 along with a consolidated late fee of Rs 1500/- per student. NIOS 10th Registration 2023-24: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a national-level board that provides various vocational courses and also administers secondary and senior secondary school examinations in India. Interested students/learners can register for the NIOS courses by visiting the official NIOS website.
Students are advised to check the NIOS eligibility criteria for class 10 before going ahead with the NIOS registration process. As per the NIOS norms, only the students who have attained 14 years of age or above are eligible to register for the NIOS secondary courses. Students providing a self-certificate stating that they are capable to pursue the NIOS secondary courses can also register for the course. Apart from that, students who have already completed their secondary school and wish to improve their performance, are also eligible for admission into NIOS.
Students must also keep some important documents like their valid age proof, residence proof and class 8 mark sheet ready in order to successfully register for the NIOS course for class 10. NIOS Class 10 Registration 2023-24: Eligibility Criteria
Before filling the NIOS registration form 2023 for class 10, students must ensure that they fulfil the following eligibility criteria laid down by the NIOS:
- In order to register for the NIOS secondary course, the student’s age must be 14 years or above
- A student/learner who has passed class VIII and has a valid proof of attaining 14 years of age is eligible to register for the secondary course (class 10)
- A student/learner who submits a self-certificate stating ,"I have studied enough to be able to pursue a secondary course" is also eligible to take admission to the secondary course
- A student/learner who has studied at the secondary level and wants to complete his course or improve his performance, is also eligible for admission in NIOS
NIOS 10th Registration 2023-24: Documents required
At the time of NIOS registration 2023 for class 10, students will be required to submit/upload the scanned copies or soft copies of the following important documents:
- Latest passport size colour photograph of the student
- Student’s signature (preferably in black ink)
- Valid identity proof like Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration card etc.
- Valid proof of Date of Birth like Aadhaar Card with date of birth printed on it in the dd/mm/yyyy format, Birth Certificate etc.
- Valid proof of Residence like Aadhaar Card with complete address printed on it, Passport etc.
- Valid address proof like aadhaar card, water bill, electricity bill, voter ID, ration card, Indian passport, statement of operational bank account, appointment letter from the employer on printed letterhead, if living in rented accommodation - copy of any proof of permanent address along with present rented agreement
- Class 8th marksheet
- Social category/Caste certificate (in case the student/learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category)
- Ex-serviceman certificate, if relevant
- Disability certificate, if relevant
- Fail Mark sheet of previous Board (if not provided, Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result)
- If transfer of credit (TOC) board marked with (*Other) is selected, then the result should be available on the concerned board website or the learner has to submit result verification letter from concerned board
Steps for NIOS Registration 2023-24 for Class 10
To successfully complete the NIOS registration process, students need to follow the following steps:
- Go to the official website of NIOS, that is, sdmis.nios.ac.in
- Click on the register button, read the instructions carefully and then click on the proceed button
- Then, you have to select your state and the identity type which can be your Aadhar number, passport, ration card etc.
- Now, enter the number of your selected identity type
- Select the course you want admission into (it could either be secondary or senior secondary) and then click on submit
- NIOS registration form 2023 will be displayed on your screen
- The registration form is divided into 4 sections: basic details, optional details, subject selection and study centre selection
- You must carefully fill all the required information in the NIOS registration form
- Before submitting the registration form, review it carefully and make changes or corrections, if required
- Once you have completed filling the registration form, you need to make the payment via an appropriate payment method

NIOS Registration 2023: Key Points Regarding Fee Payment for Online Admission
- Students can pay their NIOS admission fee via two modes:
- Pay fees online through Credit Card /Debit Card/Net Banking
- If the admission is done through Common Services Centres (CSCs), fee could be paid via Electronic Wallet of CSCs
- Students must note that along with the above-mentioned fees, Rs. 50 will be added as cost of online Application Form for all Streams (Stream 1, 2, 3 and 4)
- NIOS will accept the admission fee only via the online mode, no other modes of payment like cash, cheque, demand draft etc. will be accepted
- Students must also note that only the CSC and NIOS AIs (Study Centres) are authorised for facilitating the students/learners to take admission online
- No other agencies are recognized by NIOS for doing online admissions
