Latest Updates: The GSEB HSC exam pattern 2024 has been revised. The class 12 exam pattern has been revised keeping in mind the National Education Policy 2020. The new exam pattern will be applicable from academic session 2023-24. The details are given below in this article.
GSEB 12th Exam Pattern 2024: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) releases the exam pattern of the GSEB 12th board examinations. The exam pattern consists of marks distribution, total marks, exam duration, and other factors. For most subjects, the theory examination consists of two parts: Part A and Part B, each having a weightage of 50 marks. The total marks of the theory examination is 100 and the time duration of the examination is 3 hours. Students need to score at least 33% in the GSEB HSC examination to clear it. There is no negative marking in the examination. Read More: GSEB HSC Exam 2024
There are various objectives that are assessed in the GSEB higher secondary examination such as knowledge, understanding, application, and higher-order thinking skills. There are various types of questions asked in the examination such as multiple choice questions, short answer questions, and long answer questions. GSEB 12th Exam Pattern 2024 Revised
The various changes introduced in the GSEB HSC exam pattern 2024 are as follows:
- More objective questions, less descriptive questions: Objective questions will now carry 30% weightage, up from 20%. Descriptive questions to carry 20% weightage, down from 30%.
- For the Class 12 Science Stream, 50 percent of MCQs were retained but changes were announced in descriptive questions: Students will be given general options from within the question paper, instead of internal options within questions.
- Class 12 Science Stream students can take supplementary exams in all subjects: Earlier, students could only take supplementary exams in two subjects
- Class 12 General Stream students can take supplementary exams in two subjects: Previously, students could only take supplementary exams in one subject.
