UPTET Exam Pattern 2023: The Uttar Pradesh Exam Regulatory Authority prescribes the UPTET exam pattern, and candidates can check the pattern on the official website. The teacher eligibility test has two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. However, the exam patterns for both papers are different. The exam pattern helps the candidate to have a better understanding of the structure of the exam, types of questions, mode of exam and others. Apart from exam patterns, candidates should also look for the marking scheme of the examination.
The marking scheme will help the candidates to know which topic of the UPTET syllabus consists of the maximum number of marks. Candidates must note that the difficulty level of the exam varies as per the paper selected by the candidates. As the teacher eligibility test has two papers, paper 1 is for those candidates who wish to teach students from classes 1 to 5, whereas paper 2 is for those candidates who wish to teach students of classes 6 to 8.
The duration of the UPTET exam is two hours and fifty minutes. Each of the two papers has 150 questions. The total marks of the exam in both papers are 150. UPTET Exam Pattern 2023

UPTET Exam Pattern for Paper 1
The UPTET has two papers - paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is for those candidates who wish to teach students of primary level which includes classes 1 to 5. Paper 1 has 5 subjects which are :

- Language-I (Hindi)
- Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
Further, the duration of the exam is 2.5 hours and the total number of questions in paper 1 is 150. The type of questions in the exam comes in MCQ form. The total mark in the exam is 150. Candidates can appear for the exam in English and Hindi both. The questions in the exam are based on topics prescribed in the syllabus for classes 1 to 5. Meanwhile, the difficulty of the exam is class 12.

UPTET Exam Pattern for Paper 2
The UPTET exam pattern for paper 2 is somewhat similar to paper 1. The exam takes 2.5 hours to complete and is given in offline mode. The questions will be asked in the MCQ format. Same as paper 1, the language of the exam will be English or Hindi. The questions in the exam are based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus for classes 6 to 8.
However, the difference in exam pattern for paper 2 is in subjects. While paper 1 has 5 subjects, paper 2 has 4 subjects which are :

UPTET Marking Scheme
For the teacher eligibility test, aspirants get four choices for every question. The questions will be asked in MCQ format and candidates will be asked to select one correct answer among those four options. Candidates will be awarded with one mark for each correct answer, whereas no marks will be deducted for any un-correct answer. Hence, candidates should note that the exam does not have any negative marking.

Validity of UPTET Certificate
The validity of the UPTET certificate has now been increased to lifetime. Earlier, the validity for the certificate was set as 5 years. However, it has now been updated as per the notice issued by the UPBEB. Candidates must note that the UPTET certificate does not guarantee a job to candidates. However, it only determines the eligibility of the candidate whether he or she is eligible to become a teacher or not.
Qualifying Marks for UPTET
In order to qualify for the teacher eligibility test, candidates are required to score a minimum mark prescribed by the Exam Regulatory Authority, Uttar Pradesh.
