UPTET Cut-off 2023: The Exam Regulatory Authority, Uttar Pradesh is responsible for releasing the UPTET cut-off 2023. The cut-off will be released online on the official website. Once the results are announced, the education body will release the cut-off for the exam. Candidates who will score the minimum cut-off or more than that will be considered qualified for the UPTET examination. The UPTET cut-off refers to the minimum qualifying marks set by the authorities that a candidate needs to score to qualify for the exam. 

Candidates must note that the minimum qualifying marks are different for candidates belonging to different categories.  Candidates should score both passing percentages and passing marks in order to qualify for the teacher eligibility test. The UPTET exam is a teaching eligibility test which determines whether the candidate is eligible to become a teacher. Candidates who will successfully qualify for the exam will be eligible to get the UPTET qualifying certificate. There is no expiration date on the UPTET certificate. UPTET Cut-Off 2023 

After the UPBEB will conduct the UPTET exam and will declare the results, the education body will also release the cut-off. The cut-off will be released on the official website in PDF form, and candidates can check the list online. The UPTET cut-off will be based on several factors including the difficulty of the exam, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam and others. Further, it is very important for candidates to qualify for the cut-off, or else they will not be called qualified for the examination. 

The UPTET exam is divided into two papers. While paper 1 is for those candidates who wish to become a teacher for classes 1 to 5, paper 2 is for those who want to teach students of classes 6 to 8.  The examination is a state-level examination and is conducted once a year. As soon as the results are released, the  Exam Regulatory Authority, Uttar Pradesh, will also release the cut-off online. Candidates can check the following mentioned steps to check the UPTET cut-off once it has been released.

UPTET 2023 Minimum Qualifying Marks 

In order to qualify for the teacher eligibility test, candidates need to score a minimum qualifying mark. However, candidates must note that the minimum qualifying marks are different for candidates belonging to different categories.

While aspirants who belong to the general category are required to score 60 per cent in the examination, students of  Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ Ex-Servicemen (Ex-S)/ Persons with Disability (PwD) category are required to score 55 per cent marks to pass the exam.

Meanwhile, the passing marks for the general category students are 90, whereas candidates belonging to the  Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ Ex-Servicemen (Ex-S)/ Persons with Disability (PwD) category have to score 82 marks to clear the examination. 

UPTET Selection Process 

There are a bunch of requirements that candidates are required to follow in order to get selected for the teaching eligibility test. Take a look below at the selection process for the UPTET 2023 : 

  • The UPTET papers have two parts - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is taken to check the eligibility of candidates who wish to teach in primary schools, whereas paper 2 determines the eligibility of those candidates who wish to become a teacher for upper primary schools of Uttar Pradesh. 
  • Candidates who fall in the general category need to score 60 per cent marks, whereas candidates of SC/ST/OBC and other categories are required to score a minimum of 55 per cent to pass the teacher eligibility test. 
  • Candidates who will qualify for the exam will be eligible to get the UPTET certificate issued by the UPBEB. Earlier, the validity of the certificate was 5 years, however, the validity of the UPTET certificate has now been changed as per the new guidelines of the NCTE and now the UPTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.

Similarly, candidates who will qualify for the UPTET exam will get the certificate. Further, that certificate is valid for life long. Earlier, the validity of this certificate was only 5 years. 

However, candidates must note that the UPTET certificate does not guarantee a job. The piece of paper only makes the candidate eligible to apply for the position of teacher in private or government schools in Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates who clear the UPTET 2023 exam will be the first group of applicants to receive a lifetime TET certificate, and they will be eligible to apply for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh schools at any time as long as they meet the requirements established by the relevant recruiting agency.
