SBI PO Exam Pattern 2023: State Bank of India, the exam conducting body, will announce the SBI PO pattern 2023 along with the official notification. The notification is expected to release by September 2023 tentatively. Till then students can check this article for the exam format and updates. SBI PO Exam Pattern 2023

SBI PO 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern

The preliminary round is the first stage that candidates need to qualify in order to get recruited as an SBI Probationary Officer, check SBI PO Recruitment 

  • The SBI PO prelims round comprises three sections – English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
  • The SBI PO prelims rounds consist of a total of 100  Multiple choice objective-type questions.
  • Candidates are given 60 minutes to complete the examination.
  • The duration for completing each section of the prelims round is 20 minutes. 
  • The preliminary round is only a qualifying round and is not considered for the calculation of a candidate’s final marks

Note- For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted. However, there will be no deductions made if a candidate has left the question unanswered.

SBI PO Mains Selection criteria: On the basis of the aggregate marks in the preliminary examination, a category-wise merit list is prepared. There is no provision for a sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times the number of vacancies (approx.) in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top of the above merit list.

SBI PO 2023 Mains Exam Pattern

The Mains round of the SBI PO exam consists of an objective and a descriptive test. The details of each round have been given below: 

  • Candidates are given 3 hours to complete the objective section of the Mains round.
  • The objective section has 4 sections namely Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation,  General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, and English Language.
  • Candidates are given 30 minutes to finish the descriptive test of the mains round
  • The descriptive test of the mains round consists of 2 questions in the English Language (letter & essay writing)

Note- For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. However, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

  • Objective Round: The objective test of the mains rounds comprises 4 sections and carries 200 marks. The total duration given to the candidate for the completion of this round is 3 hours.
  • Descriptive Round: The descriptive test of the mains round comprises only 2 questions and carries 50 marks. It is a test for English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

SBI PO Interview Pattern 2023

Candidates qualifying in both the objective and descriptive test of the SBI PO mains round are eligible to appear in the group exercises and personal interview rounds.

  • The group discussion of the SBI PO consists of 20 marks
  • The personal interview round carries 30 marks
  • The final marks are calculated based on the scores of the mains round and group discussion and interview round

SBI PO 2022 Final Selection Process

  • The final merit list is prepared after taking into account the scores in the SBI PO Mains exam (both in the objective and descriptive test) and in Group Exercise and Interview
  • Aspirants are required to qualify in both the SBI PO prelims and mains exams individually.
  • The SBI PO Mains exam will be given a weightage of 75% (out of 250 total marks), while the group exercise and interview will be given a weightage of 25% (out of 50 total marks). The aggregate scores (out of 100) will be calculated to prepare the final merit list.
