HTET Eligibility 2024 - The Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH) specifies the eligibility requirements for HTET exam. Candidates must note that the eligibility criteria for each level of HTET exam, that is - PRT, TGT and PGT levels - is different. HTET eligibility is released along with the official notification. Aspirants must ensure that they fulfil the HTET eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.

HTET Age Limit 

HTET age limit is one of the first aspects that a candidate must consider before filling out the application form. Candidates must be between 18 to 38 years of age to appear for the HTET exam.

HTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 : Educational Qualification

HTET PRT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for the PRT level can apply for teaching positions in Classes 1 to 5 after qualifying the exam. To appear for HTET PRT (or level 1), the eligibility criteria is provided below. 

1. Candidates should have a senior secondary (or equivalent) degree with at least 50% marks. Also, candidates should have passed or are appearing in final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education conferring with the NCTE

OR 

Aspirants must attain a degree from senior secondary (or equivalent degree) with at least 45% marks. Also, candidates must have qualified or are appearing in their 2nd-year Diploma in Elementary Education

OR 

Candidates must have a degree of senior secondary (or equivalent degree) with minimum 50% marks. Candidates should have passed OR appeared in the 4th year of the final year of B.El.ED

OR

Students should have a senior secondary degree (or equivalent degree) with a minimum of 50% marks. Also, candidates should have passed or appeared in the final year of 2nd year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

Candidate should either have a qualified graduation degree or appear in final year of a 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education

  1. Candidates should have completed their class 10 with subjects including Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Hindi. Also, candidates should have completed Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the main subjects.

HTET TGT Eligibility Criteria 

HTET TGT (or Level 2) is conducted for candidates willing to apply for teaching positions in classes 6 to 8. The eligibility requirements vary for different subjects in HTET TGT exam. Candidates can take a look at the in-depth HTET TGT eligibility criteria below.

TGT Science

B.Sc + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

OR

B.Sc with a minimum of 50% marks + 2 Year B.Ed.

B.Sc with at least 45% marks + 2 Year B.Ed.

A minimum of 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) + 4 Year degree in B. El. Ed

Senior secondary degree with a minimum of 50 % marks + 4 Year B.Sc. Ed.

B.Sc. with at least 50% marks + 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

AND 

In the case of B.sc candidates should have a combination of at least three subjects out Physics, Zoology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany

TGT Mathematics

A minimum of 50% marks in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com in Mathematics subject (as an elective subject) + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ B.Ed.

OR 

B.A./B.Sc./B.Com (minimum 45% marks) as well as 50% marks in

Mathematics as an elective subject + 2-year B.Ed.

OR

Senior Secondary or it's equivalent (with minimum 50% marks) + 4-year B. El. Ed/  B.A./B.Sc/B.Com Ed. or B.A Ed./B.Sc. Ed./B.Com. Ed.

OR

At least 50% marks in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com as well as in Maths (as elective subject) + 2-year B.Ed

TGT English 

1. Candidates must consist of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50%

marks in English subjects (as compulsory/elective / Core / Honours) + Students should have English as a teaching subject in BTC/JBT/D.Ed/ (B.Ed.)/ B.Ed. (Special Education)

OR 

Students should have a minimum of 50% marks in English Subjects in a 4-year B.El.Ed/ Integrated BA.B.Ed. 

2. Candidates are required to have Sanskrit or Hindi as one of the subjects in their class 10 or higher education

TGT Hindi 

B.A.(minimum 50% marks) in Hindi (as elective subject) + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/B.Ed

At least 45% marks in B.A., as well as 50% marks in Hind (elective subject) + 2 years in B.Ed

Candidates must have at least 50% marks in senior secondary (equivalent degree) + 4 years B. El. Ed./ BA Ed.

B.A with a minimum of 50% marks as well as Hindi as an elective subject + 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Candidates should have complete matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or class 12/BA/MA with Hindi

TGT Sanskrit

Candidates must have a B.A. degree with a minimum of 50% marks in Sanskrit as an elective subject 

+ 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ B.Ed

OR

B.A. with a minimum of 45% marks, as well as  50% marks in Sanskrit (elective subject)+ 2-year B.Ed. 

OR 

A minimum of 50% marks in senior secondary (or equivalent degree) + 4- years. El. Ed./ BA Ed

OR

TGT Physical Education

  • Candidates must have a graduation degree in  Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) (Or equivalent degree) from a renowned and recognised university.
  • Candidates should have passed class 10 with Hindi/Sanskrit OR class 12/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.

HTET PGT Eligibility Criteria

HTET PGT (or Level 3) is conducted for those candidates who wish to teach students of classes 9 to 12. Further, HTET PGT exam has various subjects including English, Hindi, Geography, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Punjabi, Urdu, and History. The educational qualification eligibility criteria for all subjects varies accordingly. However, there are some basic HTET PGT eligibility criteria which candidates should be well aware of. 

  • Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in the concerned subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised university.
  • Aspirants must have a B.Ed. degree from a recognised university. 
  • Candidates must have qualified class 10th with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects. 
  • Candidates must have a consistent academic record. 

HTET 2024: Number of Attempts 

There is no limit on the number of attempts. Hence, candidates can attempt the HTET exam multiple times. 

HTET 2024 Certificate Validity

HTET certificate makes the candidates eligible to apply for teaching posts in various government and government-aided schools in Haryana. The validity of the HTET certificate is for 7 years from the date of issuance for all three levels. A candidate whose HTET result is delayed or revised on their part will have the validity of their certificate taken from the date of the main result declaration.
